- binchaud, on 11/03/2008, -0/+10I have one year to top this.
Any ideas? - nowhereelse, on 11/05/2008, -0/+10Actually he lives in Switzerland because UK tax laws are tougher than US ones.
- pirlok, on 11/03/2008, -1/+10dugg for nicole. forza raikkonen!
- Roland1232, on 11/05/2008, -0/+8Some form of radioactive insect bite would be my first step.
- mickstephenson, on 11/05/2008, -0/+8Well at least his job is genuinely dangerous, that makes it easier to stomach somehow
- mickstephenson, on 11/05/2008, -1/+7Well if Brazilians can't be mature enough to treat foreign drivers with respect perhaps its a good thing the last race of the season isn't held their anymore.
- spenner, on 11/05/2008, -0/+6You dont seem like you would comprehend the science behind it so I don't think I will bother
- VeloxNex, on 11/05/2008, -0/+6I love Formula 1, but you are correct. A fireman does a far more important job for society and will never make anything like the sports figures who earn millions. This will never balance out since advertising generates so much money based on popular personalities.
- spenner, on 11/05/2008, -0/+5that is such a typical digg user comment
- taketheleap, on 11/05/2008, -0/+5so, wait, he's the richest man in sport AND he gets to bang Nicole Scherzinger?!?!
life is not fair. - mickstephenson, on 11/05/2008, -0/+4That's what I hate about the rich white capitalist's mantra "why should we be taxed more for making money? we made that money by working hard!". As if to imply salary is proportional to hard work, and if everyone who got paid less only worked harder their pay would reflect that.
- js281, on 11/05/2008, -0/+4No but racing them is.
- hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3you are thinking of NASCAR, which is in 'merica
Lewis races F1
get your head out of your bum - fatas, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3maybe now he afford to have six-some with a rest of the pussycats
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10831 ...
I know that it costs a million dollars for a threesome - dsmx, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3I'll give you a hint when it rains racing slicks don't work.
- AutoXer, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Lewis was the next to last person to switch to wet tires. The other person, Timo Glock, was running in 5th position just ahead of Lewis. On the last lap, Glock had to slow down so much with his dry tires that Lewis was able to pass him. So, the tire change won Lewis the championship.
And after that penalty earlier in the year (chicane gate), he deserved it. - Niubai, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Lots of racings, different countries and circuits, over 1000 laps over the year and the championship decided in the last 500 meters of Interlagos. What a race. Interlagos always delivers thrilling races, with it's great layout (lots of overtaking) and inconstant weather. It's a shame it won't be the last race of the season anymore. F1 should really invest more in circuits like Interlagos or Spa and forget about boring and closed street circuits, like that new in Spain or Singapore.
- frontaxle, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Think she can work the stick?
- inactive, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Not gonna happen with Two ferrari drives that are equal to him, Then there is Alonso and the resurgent Renault, Kubica who suffered because BMW stopped development and concentrated on 2009 so that should pay off next year, Toyota that have shown big improvement and then finally Vettel who has sheer talent that might make up for deficiency in the car.
- Racer20, on 11/06/2008, -0/+2The helmet was a publicity stunt to promote one of the big jewelers in Monaco. It was a sponsorship deal, it was not Lewis flaunting his bling as was so widely reported.
I agree that he is the most likely of the current drivers to let the fame get to him, but he's also by far the most "markeable" of them as well. I'd bet he already has more name recognition than any of he current drivers. - jollybee34, on 11/05/2008, -3/+5the tiger woods of f1 racing?
- hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2these guys are sweating after many races in high temp. areas..it is a sport, since always, no they don't have bike pedals they have v-8s.
can you even drive? - hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2remember Glock locking up? that was insane!
- Pixelpaws, on 11/06/2008, -0/+2Given that he writes like he's thirteen, I doubt it.
- EarlOfLade, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2I do, but they don't involve you!
- Jimbo51, on 11/05/2008, -1/+3Whether it's a McLaren F1 or an F1 champion. Rarity is expensive.
- tehShane, on 11/05/2008, -1/+3£100million a year? ***** sports are over rated. Good on him though, I guess.
- Swivelstick, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2And twice in 2 days to boot.
- nanboya, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Wonder if he's going to be as generous with charity as Michael was/is?
- hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1start advertising in class rooms!
- DarwinBC, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Congrats Lewis! ***** all the nay sayers!
- pimphofoo, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1their current salary is exactly where the public's funds put it. for all the complaining people do they don't seem to like taking responsibility for the fact that they control the amount of money schools and teachers get as well as the standards both are held to. it just SOUNDS good to say teachers don't make enough and then not go out and do anything.
- ryusen, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1the hottie sucking his face in the picture doesn't count?
- abrasion, on 11/05/2008, -1/+2Singapore was appalling, the amount of overtaking was borrrrrring! infact when it is so hard to overtake, it becomes dangerous because they need to take more risks.
- hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Spa is my favorite circuit to watch
- GoatMonkey2112, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1For the slow people burying my comment: "Lewis celebrates with his brother Nicholas, left, his father Anthony, centre, his stepmother Linda, 2nd right and girlfriend Nicole, right".
- mykalimba, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Well, I've run into the back of a car stopped at a red light in front of me, so I probably could drive an F1 car like Hamilton.
- Racer20, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1A teacher is a bad example to use here. Our current education system is too broken . . . there are so many bad teachers out there, and the good ones aren't allowed to stand out.
And a bad teacher does not do society any good. Bad teachers can do real damage to a child's development and learning process. - Racer20, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1The President of the United States is paid by the American tax payers. Lewis Hamilton is paid by many of the biggest corporations on earth.
Somehow I don't think we'd be better off if it were the other way around. - oda1, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1*****, for 100 million a year even I would bang him.
- nowhereelse, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Twice today for *****'s sake!
- Racer20, on 11/06/2008, -0/+11. Supply and demand my friend. Like any athlete, actor, or musician, his performance brings in hundreds of millions of dollars for those around him. Why shouldn't he get his cut?
2. He is the best driver in the world at the moment, and stands to eventually become the greatest driver ever. Being #1 out of 6 BILLION makes you special.
3. In the real world, pay is not commensurate with a job's "importance to society," nor should it be. There's no denying that firemen, policemen, and the like are extremely important people, but where would the money come from to pay them the high salary they "deserve?" Keep in mind there are probably tens of thousands of them in this country alone. - Niubai, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Every place of the world have different cultures. Booing and teasing the adversary is part of Brazilian sport culture, it happens in any sport, and happens a lot more when there's a local fighting for the title. Brazilian players and drivers are used to that. I do not approve the act, but it will not change. Despite this, Interlagos is one of the best circuits of the season, and Brazilians really love F1. The crowd is passionate and always left no empty seats at the circuit. And believe, Brazilian F1 fans have a lot of respect for Hamilton, they know he's a great driver.
- Racer20, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1Racing wasn't white trash until the US mainstream media got its hands on it and repackaged it to appeal to the typical American sports fan . . .
Unfortunately those same people have no clue that most forms of racing in the world are NOTHING like NASCAR, or that Formula one is the largest spectator sport in the world. - DarwinBC, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1i think its more of the Spanish fans that have been acting inappropriately
- slantyeyed, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1i'm assuming he'll get paid extra for endorsements? or is that 100 million for everything?
- inactive, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Agreed. We need a Daily Mail bury brigade...
- hwy9nightkid, on 11/05/2008, -1/+2must be cuz all of them have huge dicks
