- BelatedHero, on 07/07/2008, -1/+28Holy crap, F1 made font page.
- Sazafraz, on 07/06/2008, -1/+21This was an amazing race to watch. I knew Hamilton was good but never understood the cult like following he has... but when you see him lap pretty much everybody else in the race (the only people he didn't lap were Heidfeld and Barrichello)
- nytejade, on 07/07/2008, -0/+17There's something to be said for the fact he was the only one not loosing control every 5 seconds.
Also, Fox's coverage of F1 is AWFUL. - inactive, on 07/07/2008, -1/+13I hope all those ***** who were shouting racial taunts at Hamilton are enjoying this as much as I am
- dannytehmanny, on 07/07/2008, -0/+10jeremy clarkson was right it was a man
- coldfusion1970, on 07/07/2008, -1/+9Fantastic drive and superb win.
But i must admit that i was pooping myself when he stayed out on inter tyres instead of switching to the extreme wets. I really didnt want him to slide of the track when so close to the finishing line. - DMClark84, on 07/07/2008, -0/+6That would have been a great race to watch in HD with the rain. Just too bad Bernie won't let the HD signal out yet.
That was an SD 16x9 signal for those watching on Fox. - aburrido, on 07/07/2008, -0/+5Massa spins his Ferrari right round, like a record baby, right round... round, round.
- charlesray, on 07/07/2008, -0/+5ITV commentary is awful. It's just a Lewis Hamilton jizzfest.
- fishnchips, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Finally!
- bmorris, on 07/07/2008, -2/+6God damn Spaniards and their racism. Seriously, showing up to a race in black face is so damn offensive. Even in America, where we still have problems with racism, those guys would have been beaten in their seats.
- JoaoPe, on 07/07/2008, -0/+4Are you crazy or something?
"Formula One can be seen live or tape delayed in almost every country and territory around the world and attracts one of the largest global television audiences. The 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix attracted an average live global TV audience of eighty-three million viewers, with a total of 154 million viewers tuning in to watch at least some part of the event..."
That's huge but not 2 billions huge

- RoSoDigital, on 07/07/2008, -4/+7LEWIS IS THE MAN!!!
- Junkies, on 07/07/2008, -2/+5Was an amazing race
- BelatedHero, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3Download the ITV broadcasts. 1000x better.
- charlesray, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2The commentators are fine because it's the same guys from Speed (except they have to dumb it down a bit for the wider audience), but they almost completely skipped the podium ceremony at Silverstone. And why don't they ever show them live at 8am? Speed always has two broadcasts, why can't Fox? Thank goodness the next race is Fox's last for year.
Oh, and Fox's video quality sucks too. - BelatedHero, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2That's pretty sad, and I'm an Alonso fan.
- DoubleTap84, on 07/07/2008, -1/+3***** you all... I had not seen my torrent of this race yet.
- RackAddict, on 07/07/2008, -2/+4You can't deny, Lewis's start was simply amazing. To get right behind Heiki and ALMOST pass him on the first corner was the start of an awesome race (ok so it took 4 laps but hey, he got past). Massa spun 5 times that we know of, everyone else was doing pirouettes on the track - Ferrari made a HUGE mistake not changing Massa and Kimi onto the full wets, and as a result they were dropping over 10 seconds a lap at one point!!
Regardless of whether it was a "parade" - the fact is, he got the job done, in some style. You can't blame him for the shortcomings of the other teams and denying a proper "race". Bearing in mind you got that further down the field, anyway! - HalsMyPal, on 07/07/2008, -2/+4we all forget that if it of kept raining barrichello would have gotton him on the full wet tires. sorry
- hwy9nightkid, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Im suprised this made frontpage, and now I don't have to watch in on the DVR :P
- inchrnt, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1How? This year, it's pretty much the exact same as Speed.
- krogothwolf, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2I read this think as "Grand Prix Win Sets up 3 Way" and was like Alright! Sweet! not really paying attention to the rest of the headline. Pretty cool though, that F1 has competitive drivers now, and not just Schu
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1What, if the cars go under 50mph they explode?
That would liven things up somewhat. - sobe86, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Thank god its back on BBC next year. I remember in the last race last year when they went for an advert break and when they came back it was like: 'oh yeah, by the way, when we were away Hamilton skidded off the track and pretty much screwed his Championship chances. Pity you missed it really...'
- soupr, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Yay Britain! We'll be good at sport some day... just you watch...
- bmorris, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Except they cut to commercial during the celebrations.
- GreenAlien, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2"It's a ***** traffic light."
Which isnt directly in front. It's elevated. But hay you used the word "*****" twice so you must be right.
"Send Hamilton to where he belongs: Super Aguri."
That's why he nearly won it last year missing out by 1 point, and is joint leading it this year.
Havent got a clue have you. - inactive, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1Get the ESPN starsports version that gets aired in Asia. Its ***** awesome.
- mrigns, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2You made those numbers up...
- GoatMonkey2112, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Also, they need a HD version of the Speed Channel. The races look better on Fox in 16:9 at least. They would be incredible in HD.
- GoatMonkey2112, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2Where did you get those numbers?
- GreenAlien, on 07/08/2008, -1/+2If data suggested more rain, they'd of put Hamilton on full wets. So I doubt it. He had enough time in hand to park, have a tea break, read a newspaper, put full wets on, and still come out in the lead.
- GoatMonkey2112, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1It might not be a tie if Schumacher was still around. Maybe he can do the same on motorcycles.
- Annix, on 07/07/2008, -2/+2It WAS an amazing race to watch. Why was he over a minute out in front? Because his team made the right decisions by changing boots at the right time: Ferrari didn't, and it cost them dear. You can't complain that this race happened to have a clear winner - the weather alone was enough to set people on the edge of their seats. Massa spun out 5 times in that race.
- Koush, on 07/07/2008, -2/+2Hell, with the lead he had, he could of crashed, then ran to the finish line and still won.
- Enron, on 07/07/2008, -4/+4Lewis Hamilton still needs to learn basic traffic signals before they put him in an F1 machine. He also needs to stop putting out horribly written books about himself and having all these lame celebrity run-ins. As for his team, McLaren Mercedes stole from Ferrari. If any driver in F1 has ego issues, it's Hamilton.
- BelatedHero, on 07/07/2008, -3/+3Exactly, over a minute out in front with no chance of any racing (ie overtaking) happening. A parade. People spinning off the track due to rain, while momentarily interesting, doesn't make up for this lack of racing action.
- RackAddict, on 07/07/2008, -2/+2A parade?? When he was over a minute in front?? And still pulling out faster laps than the others?? Were you watching the same race??
But yes... very, very cool to see Rubens back on the podium!
Absolutely awesome race. Considering there was so much drama, with so many spins, that was undeniably the race of his life. And it's set the rest of the season up to be very, very interesting... - razorsharp84, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1albeit an 8-year-old one
- RackAddict, on 07/07/2008, -0/+0Hear hear. It's got a lot more interesting now, although a 3-way would have been much more exciting (although I can't see that being televised!)
- anurix, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Fastes NEws for FAstes race click http://www.maniakbalap.com/?page=content&type=NC&v ...
- GreenAlien, on 07/08/2008, -1/+1Yes that'll be the Spanish. Must be in their culture to be so childish and offensive because there was alot of it aimed at Hamilton. There was also extremely offensive hate videos on Youtube poking fun at Hamilton's race mishap last year and edited-in sex scenes featuring him, his dad and Ron Dennis. Was all in Spanish.
Funny thing is it was Alonso acting like a spoilt brat, complaining about not getting special treatment, sabotaging Hamilton's race, enflaming the spy scandal. Hamilton didnt do a thing to Alonso, yet the Spanish were crying about it. They practically ***** all over the sport of F1. - DMClark84, on 07/07/2008, -0/+0There is Speed HD. It is only on Direct TV as far as I know right now. I'm not sure if any where else has it or if Dish has added it off the top of my head.
- GreenAlien, on 07/08/2008, -2/+2It's Alonso with the ego issues.
With the traffic signals. Hamilton was not the only one to make the error. Also the teams were on the radio advising about the signals, and Kimi has more time to react - Hamilton's pit was right at the end.
If you watch the more difficult races in the rain, Hamilton is the one who makes the least mistakes. That speaks volumes. The guy is rock solid on the race track. His two pitlane mishaps were 1) completely ruined tires, and 2) team not getting onto the radio early enough like the other teams did. - Enron, on 07/08/2008, -2/+2Oh come on... It's a ***** traffic light. You don't need to be radioed to use your ***** eyes and see that it's red, or to see that there is a car STOPPED directly ahead of you. Send Hamilton to where he belongs: Super Aguri.
Regarding your theory on making the least mistakes in the rain, he messed up in Monaco but got lucky (as usual) with the safety car coming out at the right time, making up all of his lost time. - BelatedHero, on 07/07/2008, -3/+3Amazing to watch? Once he got past Heikki it was just a parade until the end. Cool to see Rubens to get a podium though.
