This guy in one of my classes in high school raced ATVs and this exact same thing happened to him, except another ATV actually landed on his whole body instead of just his helmet. It compound-fractured both of the bones in his thighs and he was in a wheelchair for about a year, then walked with a cane for a year after that. Made a full recovery, but damn! When he got back to school we were like are you ***** serious? when he told us what happened....
