- quoigonfishin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20She's staying away from NASCAR because she fears Ricky Bobby.
- Eldoo77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10apparently dshPls = annoying!
- UrlorJkron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It's not quite as bad as Dick Trickle.
- dnite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Um.. did you notice the topic says 'Motorsport' ??
Motorsport != computers either.. what's your point? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13I keep thinking Danica Patrick is a porn star or something. She has a porn star name.
- fitzfan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"She's better off where she is"
Yes only going around 200 times is much less lame than going around 400. - phatsi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Currently Danica is 9th out of 38 in the standings. She finished last year 12th out of 39. She also won rookie of the year her rookie season. Danica is a very good racer, just not great. Will she ever become great? Who knows, but this team move will help her chances a great deal.
- fohat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Winny Cooper drives race cars??
- quoigonfishin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Oh. That's what it is. I'm too stupid to watch open wheel racing . . . and all along I just thought it was incredibly boring, but I guess watching single file racing with almost no lead changes for 4 hours is too sophisticated for a redneck like me. Thanks for clearing that up.
BTW, the IRL should be thanking their lucky stars. Danica Patrick is the only reason Indy racing is getting any ratings these days. - NoNom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Motorsport != computers either.. "
What about the steering wheel from the IRL, CART, and F1 (F1s http://www.centralchronicle.com/20050622/22a26.jpg ) and telemetry data? - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Right, because to be the first woman in IRL to have ever won a poll is "nothing".
- kp3469, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3sport = any competitive activity during which it is exceedingly difficult to drink a beer.
- kp3469, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i was hoping she would jump to NASCAR - she'd be great for it.
- NoNom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3-How can you put a local yellow out on an oval track?
-The reason why there aren't rain tires is because there isn't one in existence that can handle the load of an oval track. They have tires and wipers for Watkins Glen and Sears Point.
-Stewart and Robby are both good drivers.
During the 2002 or 2003 Rolex 24 Hour race Tony had a broken left rear suspension and still did lap times that were only 3 secs off his earlier laps.
Robby Gordon's success has mainly been in the off-road world that include 2 Baja wins.
With that aside, I agree with you on the rules, "Chase", and the sanctioning body BS. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You're thinking of Tera Patrick. Hottest slut in the adult video biz.
- charlie55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i agree, mckellar is my favorite danica.
if a girl is even slightly hot and is mildy competent as a professional anything, she gets crazy fame. maybe one day there will be a girl who is actually a knockout and is really the best at her pursuit. not like kournikova who is actually pretty hot but can never win, or danica who isnt even really hot and also cant win. imagine if there was a jessica alba who could win at a men's game. she would quickly be declared queen of the world, and we would all kneel trembling before her. - knupso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4How is NASCAR not real racing?
Just because they race around an oval most of the time? It's just as real of racing as any other racing.
Nascar is for the most part is boring to watch, but there are some complex strategy that goes on. It's every bit of real racing as IRL, NHRA Drag, WRC or 2 kids trying to beat each other on bicycles.
Now if you would have said that about drifting I would have agreed with you.
Send your kittes SIR! - danakin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Dude, she spun out under caution, TWICE. She had a champions car, and a decent team. She's not that big of a dea...
Wait, she has breasts. So that's why people focus on her?
She isn't a good racer. Decent, yes. Good, no. - sithvicious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yeah i hate AK, i always lose with that hand. its true what they say, it looks good but never wins
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4No... Winnie Cooper is acting in really bad sci fi movies and posing in Stuff Magazine:
http://www.stuffmagazine.com/cover_girls/girl.aspx?id=468
Not too shabby. *thumbs up* - henryuta, on 10/12/2007, -8/+10NASCAR sucks anyways... how fun is it to go around a freaking oval 400 laps. its lame
She's better off where she is - nhm90, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"NASCAR sucks anyways... how fun is it to go around a freaking oval 400 laps. its lame

Take a look at the IRL schedule. Most of the races (nearly all) are at ovals. - HydroWizard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@fitzfan:
I believe henryuta was criticizing the shape of the Nascar tracks, rather than the number of laps per race. - 70ny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1
This is why she is going to Andretti Green. They have faster cars. She's in the top ten most of the time even with a crappy car. Just think of what she can do in an Andretti Green car. A good driver is only as good as the crew. Andretti Green is better than Rahal-Letterman. Everybody disses Danica, but nobody disses Buddy Rice. - threemagic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Anna Kournikova wasn't a top 3 tennis star either.. but you know, she was the TOP of the sport while she played regardless of her non-winning ways.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Actually, I think she looks like ***** in those FHM/Maxim/Generic Male Magazine pictures. She looks best when she's not trying to look hot, which is her best asset. That one of her buttcrack hanging out of her underwear is just the worst though.
- Veretax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indy does that even to veterans. You can hardly blame her for a "rookie" mistake. What's amazing is that she survived to finish, any other driver would have lost it and been out of the race the first time.
- gosix, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Not really, her boobs are smaller than Kiera Knightley's. Talk about a dead man's chest!
- 70ny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1She is consistently in the top ten. She is a really good driver, but Rahal-Letterman isn't making her any better. Buddy Rice is driving the exact same car as she is and he can't seem to finish a race.
- Klinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe people should think more along the lines of "sport" being another word for "competition". Not all sports have to be particularly atheletic(e.g. golf or bowling).
- FinanceBuzz, on 03/07/2008, -1/+2I am just glad the Danica hype is staying out of NASCAR. Will she win with this new team? Perhaps. If so, at she will finally earn some of the attention she is getting. However, outside of the Indy 500, IRL is really an afterthought in American racing these days. NASCAR has supplanted open wheel in the US as the premier racing series. Look at Juan Pablo Montoya. He gives up his F1 seat (or is on the verge of losing it depending on how you look at it) and where does he go? Despite extensive open wheel experience and success in an IndyCar, he goes to NASCAR. Kinda says something to me when you go from the pinnacle of motorsport and choose stock cars in the US over the much more similar IndyCars.
- 70ny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What I like about IRL is that it doesn't take have of your day to watch a race. I like NASCAR, but I think the races are too long.
Why can't all race fans get along? - kp3469, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1whoa, people, you can NOT mod Tex down. that's winnie ***** cooper in her skivvies.
- MagicalTrevor2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2knupso: Debris full course yellow, idiotic rules ("chase", free pass), no tire competition (thus no rain tires), too much trading between top tiers (Busch Grand National/NEXTEL Cup), inconsistency in rules decisions, bad drivers (Stewart, Robby Gordon, Kurt Busch), lies by the sanctioning body...
- realdavewin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Of course there isn't as much strategy in drag racing. Rule of thumb is the more turns there are on a race course, the more challenging it is. Drag racing has no turns, roundy round tracks have a few, road courses have a bunch (which also requires turning right, braking a lot, and shifting gears).
- Jrgurl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sorry my post didn't go through right the first time-
streetstealth said "Actually, I think there's some truth in that. Not for fear of Will Farrel's loony character, but the culture that he's spoofing.
F1 racing and Nascar are culturally some distance apart--Many might (rashly?) generalize that F1 fans are gearheads in tune with the machinery while Nascar fans are much less literate of their sport, mostly interested in the celebrities and secret hopes of crashes.
I think Ms. Patrick is essentially concerned about moving from a somewhat more highbrow audience to a somewhat more lowbrow one."
Actually what Will Ferrell's new movie "Talladega Nights- the Ballad of Ricky Bobby" is spoofing is what people outside of NASCAR perception of the sport is. He isn't making fun of NASCAR and it's fans. He is making fun of the un-informed people like yourself who are outside of the sport and think this is a true representation of the people involved in it. Also the reason that Danika doesn't want to make the move to NASCAR is because she thinks that they run to many races and she doesn't want to give up that much of her time, it has noting to do with her thinking NASCAR fans are lowbrow. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hahaha, i get it "drive", those in fly-over country won't get it.
- rickat1964, on 08/15/2009, -0/+0She just doesn't want to be gang-banged by a bunch of good ol' boys who can't find their own *****!

People pay attention to her only because she's hot, not because of anything she's done on the track. She'll get more respect from me ( and others when she starts actually winning)
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How about the Forces... Brittany is HOT to Trot!!
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2danica mckellar is way hotter.
- TheSwagger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who decided Danica is the best female in motorsports. Go check out the NHRA Top Fuel standings and see that Melanie Troxel is on top or near it because she actually can win. Danica is great but she has yet to accomplish anything. How about Shirley Muldowny anyone? Also NASCAR should not be confused with motorsports. If Danica had talent and was this girl wonder, F1 would be calling, not the glorified traffic jam that is NASCAR. Danica is high profile, not high talent. Marco Andretti is 19 and has proven more than Danica has.
- haggie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Victory Lane" would be a porn star name. If Danica Patrick is a porn name, you must be watching some very dull porn...
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0All I know is that she Looooves to drive stick...
- audioscience, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Going from Indy to Nascar is like moving out of a mansion and into a trailer park.
It's a class thing. - Kdog22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I know where i'd like to put her..
