- AgentMull, on 12/19/2008, -2/+13x=1/2*9.8*t^2
t=~1.3s
x=1/2*9.8*1.3s^2=~8m
Thats about how high he was at the top of his arc.
Now bitch about how I didn't include air resistance. - inactive, on 12/19/2008, -3/+11Dugg for my nephew.
- Bobby1978, on 12/19/2008, -0/+8If there were boobies, maybe I'd dig it.
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -1/+9Nice landing!
- RayFinkle, on 12/19/2008, -4/+11I like the part with the motorcycle
- sn9500, on 12/19/2008, -0/+7Wonder how high up he was when he came off. Hard to gauge looking from above.
- Frankie4Fingers, on 12/19/2008, -2/+9Lame. How is it news if a person doesn't make a jump. If he had completed the jump, it might have been closer to news.
- xxMaxaroni, on 12/19/2008, -5/+10I was actually at this event, probably 20 seats to the right of the person filming.
It was one of the most ***** epic things I had ever witnessed. - crgnetworks, on 12/19/2008, -0/+5No it didn't.
- IHaveIssues, on 12/19/2008, -1/+6Meh.
- duewydo, on 12/19/2008, -0/+4Looks like the jump was to close to the landing so he over shot it. I am thinking if he were to have committed and stayed with the bike he would have made it. It would have been a painful not to pretty landing, but it probably would have worked out (can’t blame him for ditching through). Any word on injuries sustained?
- scribby, on 12/19/2008, -0/+4"DeChamp suffered a fractured vertebra when he bailed out in mid-flight and landed flat on his back at the bottom of the landing ramp, Pastrana said. DeChamp lay still for a few minutes before walking off under his own power. What television viewers and those in attendance didn't see was DeChamp collapsing afterward in the athlete area."
Here is Jim DeChamp sticking the landing in a foam pit. It is cool to see the infamous front-flip from a couple of angles.

- sdcarter, on 12/19/2008, -0/+4Nope. I wanted to shove a sweaty sock in her mouth until she shut the hell up.
- TheOther1, on 12/19/2008, -1/+5I think you forgot to include
tan (cockiness factor / humbleness) - Gnar04, on 12/19/2008, -0/+3yes, he broke his back.
- FromFirstToLast, on 12/19/2008, -0/+3He actually had it just right but he bailed out at the last second. At least thats what his friend Pastrana was saying. And it is possible because he has done it before just not in competition. It's alot different then the back flip because instead of pulling back on the bike you hit the front brakes as soon as you are coming on the lip of the ramp.
- Unzorn, on 12/20/2008, -0/+3IC what you did there
- b1m2x3, on 12/19/2008, -0/+3wasnt this from 6 months ago?
I wonder if anyone's gonna try a frontflip on ice in the winter X games.... - wrestlingnrj, on 12/19/2008, -0/+3Wasn't the same thing said about Travis Pastrana hitting the double backflip or Brian Deegan going for the 360 flip?
- MisterEX, on 12/19/2008, -1/+3"Oh my gah-osh!"
- PyrosMagus, on 12/19/2008, -1/+3shopp'd
- thataceman, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2Do you really think most of the people at these events are there to see the participants make it?
- chas25stevens, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2Hmmm I guess it was impossible. To bad he didn't know that sooner
- grat2001, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2At least the bike nailed it!
- duewydo, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2That sucks. Hopefully it doesnt stop him (what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger). I love free style, ultimate high. I have kids now so I have to keep my feet on the ground... for now.
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2good i agree cool landing
- Domdogg123, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2C for Cookie

- sdcarter, on 12/19/2008, -1/+2Doesn't count, he didn't land it. A for attempt. E for execution.
