- PhoenixTx, on 09/02/2009, -6/+16Only worthless anti-American pieces of refuse would make negative comments about this submission. Cowards and punks are what you are.
- LittleBabyJesus, on 09/02/2009, -9/+19yeehaw. i tells you: no better way to commemorate the death of thousands in the largest and most devastating terrorist attacks ever on american soil than by putting stickers on a nascar and goin' round an oval track. now all we need in montel to put some 9/11 memorial nascar stickers on quarters, and i think all those souls will finally be able to rest in peace.
- ifruit, on 09/02/2009, -4/+14Much prettier than the "National Day of Service" car.
- UbIwerks, on 09/02/2009, -7/+15These comments suck.
- inactive, on 09/02/2009, -1/+7Looks like a beautiful car. Hope it wins!
- JDoorjam, on 09/02/2009, -3/+7Wow, you managed to pack so much offensiveness in that one run-on sentence!
- Gondring, on 09/03/2009, -3/+6Actually, Gregatron5000, *SOME* of us still have style--and class--even if you've left it behind four years ago.
Your knee-jerk view of this as "commercialization" is at odds with those of us who DO remember the 3,000 innocents and who wish to commemorate those who fought to keep that number from being even higher...and who will never forget the work we did that sad autumn--and the things we saw that will never be spoken of, yet will always remain as vivid images...odors...emotions...forever in our minds. - PhoenixTx, on 09/03/2009, -2/+5@Gregatron500 How dare you question anyone persons motive about 911. You should do yourself a favor and superglue your fingers to your ass instead of responding here you sophomoric idiot.
Cheers Gondrig!! Thanks!! You rock!!!!! - JDoorjam, on 09/02/2009, -6/+9I want to make sure I've got this straight:
(1) We begin a decades-long campaign for political control over the Middle East for access to oil that includes arming crazy militant Islamists.
(2) Those Islamists decide that we're the bad guys and use the money, weapons, and training we provided them against us, culminating in the most massive terrorist attack in the history of this country.
(3) To memorialize the event we dedicate one of the least fuel-efficient cars in existence to the lives lost in the tragedy.
Yep, sounds about right. - DallasCowboys94, on 09/02/2009, -5/+8Well now, while your attempt at a smart-ass comment didn't come off successful, let me just say a couple things. NASCAR just isn't driving around an oval track; I used to think the same way as you before I got into the sport. And yes, it's definitely the most patriotic sport in the world. They stopped one race at 3:00 just to honor the soldiers of past and present. While this may seem like nothing to you, look at it as a kind gesture by Benny Gordon, and NASCAR, honoring the people who lost lives on that tragic day, and the people who fighting right now.
And yes, NASCAR isn't for everyone... but the ignorance about peoples thoughts on the sport is what gets me.
Whether you agree with the politics of war or not, you still have to respect soldiers and the balls they have, to do what they do, day in and out.
Plus, these are beautiful photos. - Ez2Pz, on 09/02/2009, -4/+7how do you feel about America's Independence Day?
how do you feel about the holocaust?
how do you feel about slavery?
how do you feel about segregation?
how do you feel about Gitmo?
how do you feel about waterboarding? - inactive, on 09/02/2009, -9/+12Oh god.
Nothing is more disgusting than these 9/11 memorials. The whole ordeal is so trite and annoying now with everyone ***** exploiting it for their own personal gain. First it was Flag pins, bumper stickers, window decals, then the blind patriotism, then the misguided justification for a war.
No doubt the "OMG Remember 9/11" stories will crop up in the next few days and will persist over the course of the next 3 weeks.
The only thing I'll remember 9/11 for is how easily malleable people are and how if you question anything or don't agree with the herd, you're immediately labeled as a modern day heretic. "How could you?!" Which is unfortunate to all the people who died, but when you get exploited to the point of being meaningless... it happens.
Times like this I'm ashamed to be a part of this country. - treeflappa, on 09/02/2009, -8/+10Very tacky
- flip2trip, on 09/02/2009, -1/+3"I don't know much about NASCAR, but now I've become a huge fan," said retired fire Lt. Mickey Krofs, who survived the collapse of the trade center's north tower."

Now go eat ***** Rexx. - 4verageJo3, on 09/02/2009, -1/+3You're really not part of this country. You're part of what's wrong with this country..
- pairadocs, on 09/02/2009, -4/+6You know what would be a great 9/11 memorial? A rebuilt skyscraper at ground zero. Eight years later, and now we have a racecar, and some gold coins you can buy on infomercials.
- L3on, on 09/02/2009, -3/+4Powered by Ford.
- lostngone, on 09/03/2009, -1/+2Alright you hillbilly, do I really need to spell this out???
First of all, flowers you put on a grave site/memorial are usually not the memorial. Second, are you comparing a nice stone or synthetic head stone/memorial that will last hundreds of years to something like a dirty 1999 beat up POS honda civic with the words "In memory of" on the back window??
Lets see here a nice marble memorial that will last 400+ years or a car? WTF are you going to do with the thing after it isn't drivable anymore? Take the window out and put it on a tree or on the ground??? - flip2trip, on 09/02/2009, -2/+2People don't like us for remembering a tragedy and the heroes who sacrificed their lives that day in order to save others? If that's the case, then screw'em and screw'em hard. Oh, and screw you too you sorry excuse for a human being.
- Gondring, on 09/03/2009, -2/+2Yeah. People must be idiots for putting flowers on graves, since they wilt.
Oh, and gravestones weather... so it must be "pretty lame" to put "In memory of" on a dirty old rock!
Whew...there are some real winners on Digg. - Gondring, on 09/03/2009, -2/+1What's amusing is that there are people crowing about how NASCAR is so "lowbrow" while demonstrating it's over their heads, proudly showing that they have no understanding of its depth (strategy, technical details, physical demands, etc.)!
But they *feel* superior making cracks, so go easy on them...they need the fluffed-up self-esteem born of painted-over inferiority. - daballs, on 09/02/2009, -9/+8LOL I BET IT WILL CRASH
- treeflappa, on 09/02/2009, -4/+2er...nice
- BaconGod, on 09/02/2009, -3/+1Ricky Bobby on that ass
- inactive, on 09/02/2009, -10/+8This is the most lowbrow and idiotic thing I've seen this week.
And to think people were pissed about the Humo ads making fun of 9/11. These people are deadly serious that the best way to remember a national tragedy is to celebrate the reasons why people don't like us, a bunch of drunk rednecks driving left for several hours for no apparent reason, in a sport only entertaining because occasionally people crash and die. - Misinformant, on 09/02/2009, -4/+2You stole what I was gunna say
- sneakyness, on 09/02/2009, -3/+1I don't just bet, I know.
- jtens, on 09/02/2009, -5/+3Where were you?
When they built the tower to heaven... - TrevorBelmont, on 09/02/2009, -7/+5So, the thoughtful way to make a car that evokes the events, emotions and lessons of that terrible day is to write "9-11 MEMORIAL" all the ***** over it.
What a touching tribute, Mr Gordon. A grateful nation thanks you. - sneakyness, on 09/02/2009, -4/+1That's hardly a compliment.
- inactive, on 09/02/2009, -3/+0Hello, pot!
- pathouston22, on 09/02/2009, -7/+4Don't let a woman drive it, she might crash it into a building.
- Gregatron5000, on 09/02/2009, -6/+2Yeah, nothing is more patriotic than cashing in on the deaths of 3,000 people to sell advertising space. Freedom isn't free!
- sneakyness, on 09/02/2009, -9/+5Sooooooooo tacky. It's in the past, let's leave it there.
- tymufc, on 09/02/2009, -7/+3this article should be titled "hey look at these pictures of people looking at a car".
yay 9/11. - Gregatron5000, on 09/02/2009, -5/+1You forgot something: we also invaded some places.
- inactive, on 09/02/2009, -8/+3If you ain't first you're last.
- Cymrubeats, on 09/02/2009, -11/+6Is this a joke? Oh, i get it, they should have turned left!!!
Seriously though, such a classy way to 'remember' [promote yourself]. - sneakyness, on 09/02/2009, -9/+3You suck.
- lostngone, on 09/02/2009, -8/+2Isn't a memorial suppose to be something meaningful and have some semblance of permanence?
I think its pretty lame to put "In memory of" on a car that is dirty and all banged up, this includes both cars on and off the race track. - ghostrc, on 09/02/2009, -8/+2There's a pretty obvious joke here that will get dugg down immediately, don't say it!
- predatorpasta, on 09/02/2009, -9/+2If this was any more redneck and American they would have Larry the Cable Guy racing in it next week.
- weister42, on 09/02/2009, -13/+5It would be cool if its roll cage were made from melted steel beams from the Twin Towers.
- Gregatron5000, on 09/02/2009, -10/+2Yes. How dare we call into question the commercialization of the deaths of 3,000 innocent people. We must hate freedom.
You know this kind of ***** right wing political correctness went out of style in 2005 right? - RexxHavoc, on 09/02/2009, -12/+4Wipe the smile off your face you ***** DOUCHE BAG
and wipe your ass with your ***** publicity stunt you *****
if you saw that ***** come crashing down you wouldn't be exploiting it
look at the faces of the firemen from the 6th frame on
***** You and your Slunt prop all proud of yourself
let me see you on the street Benny Gordon and I will spit in your face and wipe it off with my shoe
you are a half a man racing in the second string series of NASCAR Nationwide if you were anybody or anything you wouldn't be drawing attention to yourself running in the feeder series of stack car racing

What is Digg?
