Also English is not my first language (french is) so please don't be too harsh with me and my grammar.
Finally it's here; the « Big Project ».
Actually it's my answer to Big N's new generation console which with you can (trough payment) play retro games.
The project started in February and should have been NES based but i changed my mind and made it about the queen of the consoles : the Super NES.
It was risky, i had to modify the PCB to move the cart-bridge slot, command buttons, video output and the power AC before putting back all together in a case entirely homemade.
Of course there's little modification as usual like the front switch (with the eject button) which control also the blue light of the card-bridge slot and a region free controller port.
The result is pretty satisfying and the size of the console is inferior to the original SNES.
A big thanks to Icha for the shots. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25Why ruin a perfectly good console, just so you can play games which you can play anyway through Virtual console?
- Feign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow, I commend his physical work there, but seems like a much better idea to software mod it to run roms.
- bilbravo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If you already own the game and an SNES, just play it on there. Nintendo isn't trying to rip you off, they're providing a convenience here. If you don't want to pay for the convenience of having your games all in one place, don't pay for them again.
Sorry ZergyPoo beat me to it.
Digg me down now I guess :-) - MGustafson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Evidentally you people don't understand that most mods are simply tech challenges and interesting to undertake. This is wuite a nice on. The up side is that no rom/emulator combination is 100% accurate to the original system. Granted this might not run 100% either but it's got to be a lot closer to the original. I'm still waiting for the NES/SNES/GB/Wii combo to come along... hell even throw a Virtual Boy on there for good measure. :)

Why play what you own when you can buy it again? - feaks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@elmafudd
He didn't "ruin" a console (unless your talking about the SNES). He just made a new case for a SNES. You can read my translation in the next comment.
lol just noticed he called it the Nii. - ZergyPoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Or if you already own the game, you could just hook up your SNES and play it, and not have to pay twice.
You have 2 options:
1. Play the game you already own on your old system, for free.
2. Purchase the game again and play it on the Wii.
Nobody's forcing you to pay twice, but it makes sense to pay nintendo for their download service, and the convenience of playing on the Wii vs. the SNES. - scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh wait, he made the case himself. That's better... it looks like a real one to me!
- Adampalooza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Isn't the idea of virtual console to download and play games you DON'T already own? That's what I've been doing anyway.
- Shando, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Assuming this guy is French, why is he using American SNES Carts?
- wageslaven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I pretty confiedent that NOT making the machine capable of playing games you do own was intentional.
While you can choose to only download the ROMs of games you dont have in the closet, it would have been nice of Nintendo to provide a method of playing games you ALREADY own on your Wii.
Dont think it isnt Nintendo's intent to charge you a second time - it clearly is, else they would have delivered some method. - Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Did he gut a Wii, or is that a new fab case?
Either way, it's not that impressive. Less impressive if he destroyed a Wii to do it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I got some emulators running on the PS3 (Linux) - pretty good stuff.
Currently working on setting up a MAME station so I can play House of the Dead (and similar games) with the Wii remote :D - superpixel, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3note that last part-- a lot of extra time...
- scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1What exactly did he do? What a ***** worthless mod if he doesn't explain it or show the guts.
I'm suspecting he just shoved a SNES innards into a wii case. Uh, nice "mod"... - MtnXfreerider, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5Or.. you could just install a Wii Key.. which takes about an hour.. Then you will also be able to played burned Wii games, burned Game cube games, Genesis, SNES and NES games. All for less than the price of 1 game anyway.
http://chanforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=45 - plnegative1, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2That isn't a mod. That is a totally new system. What an idiot. I thought that this was going to be an attachment to the USB port or something. And by the way, where do the game discs go now?
