- zybch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6If it was the same URL digg would have notified you (or anyone that posts identical URLs) that the story had allready been reported.
Its still a very good URL though :) - pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Unattended installs have been posted before a few time yes but i don't believe that this one has. anyhow they have got cool stuff going over there. there are a couple of dudes working on a gamer version of windows, on has GUI and one will not if i remember correctly. anyhow very interesting.

(but it is a great site nonetheless- forum support fantastic) - jphillips59, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1No Digg....does not even remotely apply to Windows Vista...
- NICU, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6With new people signing up for Digg all the time it doesn't hurt anyone to post a story more than once. This is definitely interesting. I didn't see this before and wouldn't have seen it if Ultrarobot didn't post it. Thanks man.
As for the rest of you, who cares if its been posted before? Just ignore it. No need to be mean.- Mindstormer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Right on NICU! I hadn't seen this either until now, I really wish people would get over the deal about dupes! If u don't like, don't digg! As for the rest of us who haven't seen it, we will digg it! No need to comment "no digg" either, who cares weather one specific person decided not to digg it!

- gsmithEIDW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Two related sites worthy of your attention if you haven't already encountered them:
This guy has hotfix rollups (post SP2 of XP) and switchless installers which are nicely packaged for
slipstreaming:
http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/
nLite is useful for putting a nice easy to use graphical interface for creating slipstreamed install CD's:
http://www.nliteos.com/- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice links i knew about the nliteos but the other link i was not aware off.
- zenubio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ghost anyone?
- gsmithEIDW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well Symantec Ghost or equivalent imaging applications have one feature going for them which is great and that's the ability to use multicast to save repetition of data going to the client machines. It is possible to create a ghost image with drivers for all target hardware using sysprep following the imaging process.

- jonconley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3First off, yeah this has been posted a few times. I used MSFN Unattended Guide to build some pretty nice DVDs for increasing productivity at work and made some DVDs for my friends that download so much crap it saves me reloading their OS every other week. However, I obviously wanted a cheap solution that was easier to modify and configure custom builds for certain users and departments.
So I stumbled across an open-source RIS server (kinda). http://unattended.sourceforge.net/index.php
Not too much documentation, but 90% of the unattended setup can be applied from the MSFN guide. This solution worked great, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have been updated in a while.
If you are on a budget, this is more flexible than CD/DVD based installs and cheaper than RIS. I would be interested in hearing of anything similar. - aztechclan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2meh.. lame lame lame. and a dupe at that.
Try out unattended.sourceforge.net. I just found this, and it's nice to be able to use linux for the server instead of being locked into a windows server. Not to mention it's actually easier than RIS. - DenZ88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This was on digg like (literally) a year ago...
It is a nice guide though. - ashwinkp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my two cents to get a list of all the needed hotfixes
