- chuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Anarchist Cookbook is indeed very old. I remember downloading it off a BBS almost 10 years ago. Some of you are probably saying, "BBS, whats that?". There have even been 20/20 segments on this, albeit years ago. Its interesting seeing this "rediscovered" now.

There is so much in this book it's all ingrained in my head. I love the shotgun shell mine trick! If Anarchy ever reigns I feel sorry for anyone who never read this book.

- Chuud0ku, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It isnt illegal to read the anarchist cookbook. It is perfectly legal. They can only use the fact that you read it if you perform something in there and they find out you have it. So the bottom line is....dont get caught doing any of it.

- afslip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0THe FBI will only get you if you actually used the cookbook. They can though spy on you to see if you are a terrorist. Of course that Cookbook is old, i remember that from almost 10 years ago, how time flies. I never used it, hell no dont want to be in prison.

I too downloaded it from a BBS back in the day on my Apple IIe and 1200 baud modem and it seemed to get packaged with a ton of old phreaking info as well. Man, the days of analog are long gone but it was so much fun.

One of my friend's brothers wrote a lot of the articles involved (most of it was written by Jolly Roger, though). This version is definitely watered down; the original contained a lot of information on phreaking. Nice to see the rediscovery, this takes me back.

In fact, you can check it out from most libraries. I don't recall how old it is, but it's probably 30 or 35 years old by now. Most people have seen it or read it at some point in their early teens.
