Next project: Wife simulator - Error601, on 10/23/2007, -3/+40"Although he holds a glider pilot's license, John, who has clocked up around 2,500 hours on the simulator, claims he wasn't good enough at math to fly proper planes."
This guy can figure out carpentry but not the little bit of math for flying an airplane? - TheRemoteViewer, on 10/21/2007, -6/+35Someone better arrest this guy before he flies his simulated plane into a simulated skyscraper!
- AttilaD, on 10/20/2007, -0/+29Founder of the Virtual Mile-High Club
- houndeyex, on 10/20/2007, -3/+30If evolution was true, men would have vaginas on their hands.
- fcukbush, on 10/23/2007, -1/+28He is right, He does suck at math. Check out his pricing scale.
If you have 6 one hour sessions as opposed to one 6 hour session you save £30
It's like selling apples for $1 each, Or 5 for $6 - BarbaraKolbe, on 10/20/2007, -2/+27PICS *alone* are worth a visit - dugg!
- iashraf, on 10/23/2007, -3/+25The 'bit of math' that a pilot knows is crucial for the plane to stay in the sky. It's good he knows that he is not capable of flying a real plane.
- vinnyvenus, on 10/20/2007, -2/+22Jet Simulator > Wife
- fcukbush, on 10/23/2007, -1/+20"It costs between £65 ($130) for one hour and £420 ($850) for six hours."
Hmm, I'll take 6 one hour sessions then please and save £30.
65 x 6 = £390 - mentol, on 10/20/2007, -1/+18So what's wrong with a simulator in your own bedroom?
Sounds more than fun! Kudos to the guy. - Error601, on 10/23/2007, -3/+20Non sequitur. The point is if you can do the math to build something like that, you can handle what you need to to fly an airplane.
- dafragsta, on 10/20/2007, -0/+17Give it time.
- Foliot, on 10/28/2007, -0/+16Speaking of pics... I thought this was funny...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/brynbecker/ ... - SeventhSon, on 10/20/2007, -1/+10He should team up with that guy who built the cruise ship in his yard.
- dafragsta, on 10/23/2007, -0/+8At least the simulated war on terror will be only a simulated *****.
- scabbers, on 10/20/2007, -0/+8£65 an hour? That's cheaper than most arcades ;)
- Smokersroom, on 10/20/2007, -1/+8Right Hand.
- thehouse, on 10/20/2007, -1/+8damnit mom, i can't take out the trash, i'm at 30,000 feet!!!
- arcooke, on 10/23/2007, -0/+6Coming from the guy making blind insults on a website to someone he's never met...
- bhowell, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6Brilliant! Why get paid to fly the real thing when you can build a simulator in your bedroom for a mere $30k?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/20/2007, -0/+6I don't care how bad he *thinks* he is at math; if he's smart enough to do this, he can learn the math he needs to fly. He should have invested those 15,000 pounds in his PPL, IR, and multi-engine ratings. And if he really, really has trouble with the math, throw some of that money at a tutor.
- filefly, on 10/20/2007, -1/+7They already make those...
- MysticSavage, on 10/23/2007, -0/+6My question is if he has a metal detector and a couple of goons that search you before you enter his house?
- JirkJiggler, on 10/20/2007, -0/+6Can someone please explain to me the appeal of a jumbo jet flight sim? Used to have a flatmate who spent all his free time on this whilst chain smoking.
- tizz66, on 10/21/2007, -0/+5When you become a pilot, it's not up to you to decide whether your maths is good enough or not. I assume you need to pass exams in maths in order to proceed. So whether or not he can build a sim, if he hasn't passed his exams he wouldn't be able to fly a real plane.
- quaxon, on 10/20/2007, -1/+6yea except the prices are outrageous for what is essentially a videogame. You could fly for real with that kind of money
- inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+5I expected to see some sad nerd sticking together a few monitors and a seat...
WOW - AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -1/+6Not entirely true.
- xtragedy, on 10/20/2007, -0/+5One would have tough that he has enough money to buy more screens!
- ethanpack, on 10/20/2007, -0/+5"A week after completing the wife simulator, the nagging unit overloaded and caught fire after constant complaining about removing the flight simulator from the bedroom..."
- iheartjebus, on 10/20/2007, -0/+4they're called dishwashers. Whirlpool and Maytag both make pretty good versions, you should try it out!
- brianbennett, on 10/20/2007, -1/+5All the skill in the world won't matter if someone tries to hijack a plane with a box cutter again.
- csb92376, on 10/20/2007, -0/+4There is actually a growing community of flight sim hobbyists ... there is even a virtual air traffic control system (vatsim). Cockpits are being built all over the world... this has actually been going on for many years. Project Magenta (projectmagenta.com) provides glass cockpit software for instrumentation -- many more private projects here: http://www.projectmagenta.com/references/private.h ...
- inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3DO A BARREL ROLL!
- tdous, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3You seem obsessed with others' sexual progress. Does it suggest a lack thereof on your behalf? I mean, I expect you to ignore this, or call me a fag, or recount the tales of the endless sexual conquest that is your vastly superior life, but still.
- firebhaal, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Ground control to major tom.
- fakesinatra, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3It needs a random event generator to simulate catastrophic failure of the hydraulic system or a defective side hatch resulting in decompression of the cabin.
- tdous, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3He could learn a thing or two about cool from you, that's for sure.
- inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3whats with Europeans building outlandish ***** at home a french guy built a cruise liner in his backyard this guy builds a flight simulator in his bedroom
- k3ano, on 10/23/2007, -1/+4Why would they included the WTC in the 2002 edition anyway?
- directive0, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3Or a decent hand held flight computer.
- FortyCaliber, on 10/19/2007, -1/+4Remember, the Skymall magazine makes a great club.
- johnnybluejeans, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3Sounds like a terrorist to me. Someone send the feds after this guy!
- desertDenizen, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Dugg for letting cats fly.
- tdous, on 10/20/2007, -0/+2Digging you up for making me laugh with how strongly you seem to feel about it.
- umbriago, on 10/20/2007, -3/+5Man, I'd be flying into buildings and doing CFIT's all the livelong day, letting my cats fly, doing barrel rolls - damn that looks like fun.
- GawtMilk, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Yea, I remember that too.
- astrotrain, on 10/19/2007, -3/+5That is true... after (fact!) the Terrorists used Microsoft Flight Sim to learn how to fly the jets. Thats why in MS FS 2002, major landmarks (like the World Trade Center) were removed.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/09/17/world_trad ... - ksemel, on 10/20/2007, -0/+2Now that's he's single he can try to lure dates over by calling it the "***** pit".
