- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26"Not exactly my choice of OS,"
Not exactly my choice of a platform to run it on either... - Xtrem3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I believe he was moving the camera around to show that it wasn't edited in post.
- falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Hey! Do you think the psp could run Windows Fundementals for Legacy Computers?!?!
- Terc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14actually, I beleive he WAS using a tripod... But holding the PSP
Take a look around 1:55-2:05 if you don't think I'm right - Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13this is old, verry old... but still cool nontheless
also there is an emulator that will allow you to run windows 95 - victortrash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Wish the google video posters would quit slapping any ole music just to videoify it up. I'd rather hear the guy explain the how and why's.
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13It's Mac OS 7, and the emulator is from http://pspupdates.qj.net/2005/10/basilisk-ii-psp-macintosh-emulator.html
- The2ndAct, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Because no one wants to give you pitty diggs. Sorry, but that's the truth.
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Oops, http://pspupdates.qj.net/Basilisk-II-PSP-Macintosh-Emulator/pg/49/aid/8010
- infwonder, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Although it's not OS X, but it's still very cool!
- Universal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Look at how long it takes to scroll using the mouse. Not exactly Mac OS compatable hardware. But still neat.
- eldigg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12can the guy at least buy a tripod hold the thing still...
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5PSP Linux? Whats happens if you have to use the command line? That would be a pain in the ass.
- turnlikeawheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6You people don't seem to realize that just becuase you saw it, not everyone else has seen it too. They're not posting things that have been up already just to piss you off.
I haven't seen this, and I thought it was really cool. - kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5 This is neat. Pointless but neat.
- Abatrour, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Here is a video of the Mac OS running on vMac for the DS, although it doesn't show the actual DS the emulator exists for it and I'm sure its legit.
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Nintendo_DS_Booting_Macintosh_System_6 - joseph93, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm gonna have to post my favorite, yet old, videos on digg. That way, even though it's old, it gets to the front page and people that comment that say it's old get dugg down!
- brandonhines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wonder if the OS would pick-up a keyboard if you used a mini converter...
- V3RT1G0LMI, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5yea this is very old... well only if your in the psp scene like me but the colors of the OS arent the originals if some of you might of noticed... for some reason they dont run correctly
- Pacotheparrot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yah this has been done alot. Rather old story.
- interglenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2get it? classic? mac os? oh well
- Spo8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"PSP Linux? Whats happens if you have to use the command line? That would be a pain in the ass."
There have always been rumblings of a physical keyboard that plugged into the USB mini port on the top of the unit and sat beolow the screen. I would bet if someone made a viable proof of concept and had linux booting and a workable command line, we would see a DIY keyboard pop up somewhere. I'm sure it would be possible to modify one of the dozens of PDA keyboards out there. For those few saying something about Vista, just forget it. You're not going to get very far on the 32mb of system RAM. - barnett25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"But what would be the utility of mac os on a psp."
PSP Oregon Trail!? - spingk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2not everybody is constantly watching the Digg Que and reading every story submited. Most people just check the site everyone and a while or use the RSS feed. This leads to people missing some stories that others do not. Hence dupes will continue, so people better stop bitching about them.
- glafira, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2now if only he could get the internet working, then this discovery would be worth something.
- smackit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg sucks ***** these days. Its rubbish if sommeone blatenly submits a dupe and then people digg the copy. What the hells wrong with people?? It a "community edited" news site. It doesnt work too well if the bloody community cantedit for Sh*T. I hope i get banned for this comment cause the bloody place sucks!
- MaxwellTD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is verry old, i beleive it was on digg a few months back
cool though if there was some sorta USB keyboard - Twango, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh I dunno, suppose you have a PSP anyway and OS7 and a calendar/address book. Hmmmm. Social currency? http://www.rushkoff.com/columns/social_currency.html
- Eth4n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The only problem is DIGG is a place for people to find new stuff and cutting edge. When it's no longer safe to assume that this is true then some other website will become more popular. Imagine the life cycle of a story.
1. First week the story exists is passed around forums and blogs.
2. Within the first or maybe second (depending) week it's dugg and now everyone can see it
3. The actual media picks it up. You see it on google news.
4. Wait 9 months it's back on Digg again? wtf? - mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Indeed. I was hoping for OSX, or at least OS9. System 7.5.... too old. Still cool. I needed to mute my volume though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1old, but cool anyway. But why do they just HAVE TO put some loud, "rock" music in these movies... Its some sort of cult, in lots of these videos showing a new game or hardware there's some annoying "music" :P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its bochs x86 emulator running mac os...there was also a video of it running windows 95...
unfortunately, linux cant be run because the emulator doesnt have keyboard support and the linux booting thing gets stuck at the press enter screen :D - hooksie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I like where it crashed at the end...
- spingk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want to see a Altair 8800 emulator. Of course you would have to swtich the switches yourself.
- melodic666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1anyone have a link to the mac.rom?
- rekrapt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I've seen it before, it's very cool. My question is: What can you do with it?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I guess it's just a novelty for now
- Jayeveryday, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Cool but ya its pointless
- pakkman781, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dugg, but very, very old. Here's the page for it:
http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/basilisk.shtml
Runs great! Boots in just a few seconds, and many times more stable than the Bochs port for PSP! :) - alienpi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now all we need is OSX 10.5 running on a DS Lite. ;-)
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bleh all I want is some full fledged Linux with Wifi support and maybe even support to plug a keyboard in the USB plug.
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"so be it'? HAH! You could say that if you had any power maybe but you obviously dont.
- barnett25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No kidding. They had this working before my testicles dropped.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Um, that's exactly what I was talking about. I never once said that this pissed me off. The people of digg have deemed it worthy of the front page, and there are people like yourself have never seen it before. I, too, thought it was cool. It was a somewhat redundant statement.
Chill out, I'm on your side :P - interglenn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1classic!
dugg - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Old as the hills, but since the digg population deems it worthy of the front page again, so be it.
- shuffle, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Yay for Sunshine Highway by Dropkick Murphys!
- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Edit: Terc beat me to it.
- ZaNkY, on 10/12/2007, -14/+9This is a DUPE, regardless of whether he uses fancy language or not. No reason to Digg him down for that.
I wouldn't mind that it was a dupe if he had 20 or less diggs, but the fact that he has nearly 1000 Diggs....
Give the guy a break.
Buried. - stihorsepower, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1if ther was a way to put vista on it and speed up the mouse then i would buy it just for that : - )
