1. Foxmarks (bookmarks synchronizer) http://foxmarks.com/ - lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42Thanks. I enjoy lifehacker but for someone who is interested in making things easier, I don't understand why he put all on their own individual page. Perhaps it is meant to make life easier for him, with the increase in ad revenue.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35Wow, same 10 as last week and the week before that and the week before that and the week before that.
BORING! - Toast1185, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Having to click a link 10 times? That's the complete opposite of lifehacking. How about a firefox extension that makes all of these appear pages appear on one.
- shifty2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20*thanks god for Foxmarks* now my porn bookmarks show up at work!
- jasnmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10isn't Adblock Plus better than Adblock? I thought they stopped updating Adblock.
- vsujohn2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10WTF, wheres noscript??
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Lists of "must-have" Firefox extensions are starting to become like opinions and *****. Everyone has them.
- JoeDonH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7That just seemed like a random list, arranged in no particular order, of commonly used FF extensions. What's with all the damn "Top 10" lists that have been inundating the front page for so long now. Can someone please compile a Top 10 list of the Top 10 lists so I can weed out these stupid random ones?
- vonskippy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Yawn, another MUST HAVE FF EXTENSION article.
What, no boring Ubuntu APT-GET articles to fill up space? - random19, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Because Fasterfox....doesn't really do anything. It changes some settings, but you can do that (easily) without the help of an extension. As any Firefox user can tell you, you want to minimize the number of extensions you have, because they really slow down the FF startup process.
Adblock, on the other hand, very useful.
(I'm an Opera user, and I can say that the only thing I miss would be Greasemonkey (Opera can only run some GM scripts), and maybe CustomizeGoogle, because its the only thing I've found that will block Google Ads) - digid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Those extensions are great. I would have included StumbleUpon and the Web Developer Toolbar
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4my list:
fasterfox
adblock
google syncronizer
flashblock
that's it - most of people doesn't need anything more - hawk_eye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No offense to Lifehacker, but aren't we all sick & tired of this "top 10 blah blah of blah blah" way to get into the digg homepage ? pl dont digg this one ... if we do, more folks are going to get encouraged to create such *****
- MaximegalonInfo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Can I get a Firefox extension that blocks "Top X Firefox Extension" stories? It's on digg and every other site every day. People know already, or don't care at this point.
- hardcle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know why I keep clicking on these stories. I either already have the extensions or I don't want the ones listed.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who needs a top 10 list?
I have 36, and they all get along with each wonderfully.
BTW, you left out NoScript. That IS one of the top 2 for safe browsing. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Real men use tar xjvf && ./configure && make && make install
...if you take real men to be people who hate automation (i.e., computers). - TonyKay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Every post a repost
- MetaDFF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Although not really an extension, this bookmarklet called "Remember Password" is pretty useful. It makes the browser ignore web site requests to not remember passwords. (sites such as Microsoft Passport)
http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password - flap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How the hell is webdevloper not on there?
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I personally think Firefox Showcase is pretty cool-looking as well as useful.
Of course, I also think Vista's Flip3D is pretty useful to so you'll probably disagree with me on this one. - elsagacious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How is FasterFox not on this list? FasterFox+AdBlock Plus is the best combination ever for quicker loading of pages!
- djbelieve, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5ZOMG!!!!1!! TEH BEST TOP 10 EVAR!!!!!1!!11 LIF3HAX0R FTW!!!1!!
Digg needs a top ten/list section. - docjeff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1shouldn't use apt-get anyway. should use aptitude instead.
- albrad84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also check out:
OpenSearchFox - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3698/ - allows you to add any search engine to Firefox's search box
SearchWP - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/376/ - adds word-find and highlight buttons for the search box (like the google toolbar) - ryanworrell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same here. WTF, that is the most important one in my opion
OH and BTW:
Screw DownThemAll get FlashGot and FlashGet and there you go 100x better. - yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nothing to see here. Move along now.
- RandomEngy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wouldn't be able to live without Download Statusbar. I'd pick that extension over say, the scrap book one any day.
- bdmbdm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No kidding.
http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/
The reason I provided the developers own URL is to give him work more publicity. :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, some of the things on the list are pretty good. Here's a couple more that one shouldn't be without:
Torrent Search Bar: http://www.torrent-search-bar.com/
- makes little work of finding torrent files on the top 2 dozen or so torrent sites. Life wouldn't be life without this. Of course, utorrent is a must have add on app as well.
Image Zoom: http://imagezoom.yellowgorilla.net/help/?source=options&version=0.2
- zoom in on any image on a site with just a click. - alex32211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about TADSEE? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/4166/
It's perhaps the single most useful extension for digg. - SjRaptor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's mine:
Adblock Plus
del.icio.us
Firebug
ForecastFox
Gmail Manager
GreaseMonkey
Image Zoom
Live HTTP Headers
NoScript
Web Developer Toolbar
anymore and I just think it's extra bloat. 1/2 the extensions out there can be avoided by editing userChrome.css and about:config - digitalarcanum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1fasterfox, ietabs, adblock, and flashblock do the job just fine for me. Maybe the occasional theme change if I find the default boring, but that's about it.
- samuella, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0In Firefox my JS functions not work, so my favorite was and is IE!

download status bar - poppaluv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just wanted to say - if you want to integrate with del.icio.us, then get the del.icio.us Bookmarks extention which is different than del.icio.us. It gives you a sidebar where you can see and search all your bookmarks. When I found this one, considered del.icio.us to be perfectsWh6r. I can't wait til this sidebar lets you manage your bookmarks through drag and drop.
- poppaluv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Most of the functionality of Web Developer can be done in Firebug, but in a much slicker interface. I've used Web Developer for years and currently have both active, but after having Firebug for a couple months, I'm considering disabling Web Developer, cause I just about never use it any more. Firebug does a lot of things that Web Developer doesn't even try to do and allowed be to get rid of a bunch of other modules like DOM inspector and Edit CSS and .........
Once you get into it, FireBug is just amazing! - JohnboiWaltune, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Adblock still works great for me. I update my filterset periodically from http://www.pierceive.com/
- mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I'd also recommend https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/26/ download statusbar.
- hello2usir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Please, offend LifeHacker. It's possibly among the worst of the trendy pseudo-intellectual geekchic web sites.
- meechwings, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Must have? I use none of those. My standard extensions:
Mouse Gestures
IE Tab
Print It!
Web Developer - hello2usir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The problem with Digg is that the majority of Digg users are retards. (This also applies to LifeHacker readers)
Thus you end up with worthless crap like this on the front page. - stefpet, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1LifeHackers Top 8 killer Thunderbird extensions:

#1. Mouse Gestures (Optimoz)
#2. Bugmenot
#3. Del.icio.us (ver 1.x)
#4. Greasemonkey
#5. DownloadThemAll
There's your list... in order of importance.
