That anodized aluminum is tough to work with. Amazing stuff, now if only they could make one that I could clip onto my change pocket, err, never mind...

    • larley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4it's not anodized aluminum. from what i can get from the translation, it's made from resin which he painted. that simplifies things since it can bend easily when heated.

The G5s made by a large computer company called Apple were made from anodized aluminum, which would have been extremely difficult to cut down and reassemble into a smaller version. Hence, I concluded that it was not made from an actual G5. Dumbed down enough for ya?

      When people say things like, "He's got too much time on his hands," they apparently don't appreciate having a creative outlet. I just made a couple of ipod nano cases when I could have bought one for $5. The time I spent was worth more than $5, but I enjoyed it. I like having a case that is unique and I like the creation process. What's bad about that?

I mean, I have had ideas for cool case mods, but I just never can find the time to actually get anywhere on them... He obviously has a great deal of creativity, and the time to execute it..
    • Saiing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1With respect, it did take him over 3 weeks, so if he put in an hour or so a day, it would represent plenty of cumulative time. It doesn't necessarily hold that he has a lot of free time (I live in Japan - it's one of the busiest, most workaholic cultures in the world). I would bet that most people spend considerably more than an hour a day just watching TV. Maybe he just chose to spend his time more creatively.

Cubes are outdated forms, i am an anti-cubite, and cubes are for squares is gold! it's caviar to the general (general as in brass, clearly not as in mass).
