This mod is very neat!
- Matt-lars, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Damn thats pretty slick.
- Hebrewhammer913, on 10/12/2007, -51/+3This isn't even remotely interesting.
- EyeChewRazors, on 10/12/2007, -44/+3I agree. Case modders need lives.

Zing!! - exobyte, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Especially when you're a PC user and that title meant absolutely nothing.
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Interesting enough to comment on, you wanker.
- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -32/+2Looks awesome
too bad it is a mac... - thesparrowband, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29thats alot of attention to detail, respectable
- HondaWang, on 10/12/2007, -26/+1Although it is awesome, how many times have I seen this? It's sort of old.
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17How many times have I seen it? Oh, zero?
- slowmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I have no idea how they did it, but I am speculating that it was made from scratch as oppose to having been made from an actual G5. That anodized aluminum is tough to work with. Amazing stuff, now if only they could make one that I could clip onto my change pocket, err, never mind...
- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6there is a link on how he did it at the bottom... click the ??????
- larley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4it's not anodized aluminum. from what i can get from the translation, it's made from resin which he painted. that simplifies things since it can bend easily when heated.
- slowmo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Ummm yeah. Thanks for the tip Capt. Obvious! The G5s made by a large computer company called Apple were made from anodized aluminum, which would have been extremely difficult to cut down and reassemble into a smaller version. Hence, I concluded that it was not made from an actual G5. Dumbed down enough for ya?
- haxorjoe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2If he made that from scratch, I'll fall out of my chair
- TheChops, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4He made it out of a g4 cube. There are more pics here: http://www.conf.co.jp/new_folder/making/cube_2.html
- affanjam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7http://www.conf.co.jp/new_folder/making/cube_1.html
haxorjoe falling out of his chair in 3..2..1..
edit: chops beat me - haxorjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I mean the casing, you *****

What do find when you look up dumbass in the dictionary? TheChops and affanjam!
- pants428, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Some people have a lot of time on their hands... Still, it's pretty clever and well executed..
- tracydanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That is a very cool mod.
When people say things like, "He's got too much time on his hands," they apparently don't appreciate having a creative outlet. I just made a couple of ipod nano cases when I could have bought one for $5. The time I spent was worth more than $5, but I enjoyed it. I like having a case that is unique and I like the creation process. What's bad about that? - pants428, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7oh, don't get me wrong, I think it's amazing... I just mean that he seems to have a lot of free time on his hands... I mean, I have had ideas for cool case mods, but I just never can find the time to actually get anywhere on them... He obviously has a great deal of creativity, and the time to execute it..
- Saiing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1With respect, it did take him over 3 weeks, so if he put in an hour or so a day, it would represent plenty of cumulative time. It doesn't necessarily hold that he has a lot of free time (I live in Japan - it's one of the busiest, most workaholic cultures in the world). I would bet that most people spend considerably more than an hour a day just watching TV. Maybe he just chose to spend his time more creatively.
- tracydanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That is a very cool mod.
- grandtheftfob, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2holy crap.
amazing.
too bad the components are outdated.
great mod. - marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1so impractical.
the cube is so outdated as a shape.- marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1the seven people who digged me down (as of this writing) have no taste. they are probably part of the same mindless horde that dugg matt-lars' "damn thats pretty slick" comment a record 26 times. what measuring stick are you spinning your thumbs by? Cubes are outdated forms, i am an anti-cubite, and cubes are for squares is gold! it's caviar to the general (general as in brass, clearly not as in mass).
- marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1you people are sadistic jerks! lol

- bigvics, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3looks fugly.
- kanecorp, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2This is so old. so old. Anyone else wonder why they're using a G5?
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I'm sure I'll get dugg down for this but whatever. What's old is new again (at least on digg). This is old old old...
- KyLe4812, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Try this, It lets you read it!.

1st December 2003
yeah, it's old. - Powerdrift, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Isn't there a case you can buy like this?
- lare911, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is a very cool mod. Apple should do it. If they used the intel chips I would buy one!
- moonwell, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1indeed, there are 2 things what the japanese are professional in, make things smaller and make more degenerated slit-eyed child. If Tokyo falls , the world falls ?
:DDD- Nicodascorpio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of blocking you. Do us a favor and run into a knife. Jackass!!!
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cubes are cool. That lucite Apple tissue dispenser was the ultimate.
- marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cubes are offspring of the Borg. the most efficient shape but also the one with least pizazz.
- tupperbacharach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here is one of the coolest cubes:

Here is an inexpensive cube:
http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/cardboardcube/ - marlintehrani, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0i'm a bonafide anti-cubite.
cubes are for squares.
- mooseboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Apple needs to make one of these. Seriously.. a mac desktop machine that has a 3.5" hard drive and a normal PCI-E video card, that costs less than $2500 I will snap up in a heartbeat.
- vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3From the small pics the construction looks to be of superb quality.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Suck on that Shuttle....
- smb3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I Imaging he had some sort of CNC machine to drill out all those holes. Or a really steady hand.
- HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1help.. i don't see a floppy drive :P
- GhengisKhan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why!?

- diulei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Both this and the Mac Mini Cube mod - beautiful and impressive.

- FHKE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://monphoto.hp.infoseek.co.jp/andcube/andcube-e.html
Just let you guys know there is a Japanese selling Power Mac-like METAL case for G4 Cube. - Kilraq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*Chuckles* Wow, this just takes Apple Pro envy to a WHOLE new level. *Chuckles*
Its a neat mod though. Very unique and it definetly looks "tote"able. Seems like a cool idea. Hope he can market it.
