- JoeBaynham, on 10/12/2007, -30/+9Tivo isn't available in the UK or anywhere but Amercia so why would I care? These stupid company's don't realize that Amercia isn't the only place where people why would these things!
- subxero37, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Was that even a sentence?
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16He's jealous 'cause we get TiVos and they don't! :-P
- Yoshi39, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Anyone know of a good external sata enclouser that _dosn't_ connect to your computer via usb?
- Heembo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There are tons of enclosures that have eSata, USB and several other connectors. Google around, they are not tough to find.
- BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, and you seem to have forgotten that digg has articles by the bucketload that are regionally specific to a greater or lesser extent, and that they get dugg by this international community just the same.
TiVo doesn't retail where I live, I'm still interested in knowing this, sharing it with my friends who do have them, and if I get one when I'm in the States. - drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@yoshi39
I've never seen an external SATA case that uses USB... I take it for power. Go to a Frys if you've got one in the area. Or a dreaded Best Buy, Compusa, or whatever you have near you. I wouldn't be surprised if Wal-Mart has them now.
- Smeeh, on 10/12/2007, -19/+0I have made a test on this: http://smeh.blog.siol.net

- chris4404, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone have a guide to upgrading the Series 2 Hard Drive?
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, it's better then the new Directv HDTV DVRs. They have the eSATA ports. But if you plug in a drive it will disable the internal drive instead of adding to the current storage space.
However, to the defense of Directv, this is an undocumented feature and is not fully supported yet. Perhaps in the near future it will work correctly with a firmware update. - swordedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have the cable companies DVR an SA 8300HD and it too has an eSATA port. The word on the net is that it does work and the encryption is box specific so just about uncrackable. You also can't control what goes on the external drive. Thus, you can't use the external drive as a mechanism to export programs to your PC. The only known way to do that is the old fashion way, play it back into your PC capture card.
- codyfrisch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0If it has HDMI output, AJA makes an HDMI capture card for $250 which should do the job nicely.

Though it would be pricey, if this enclosure works with the Tivo, you could easily have over 2TB of storage. It looks great too, it would fit right in with any other components.- fugitiveALiEN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wrong link...
- Sfmobius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are there any hacks like this for Series2?
