- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31I might just try that, although I might need to buy a 50-pack of pencils/erasers thanks to the ***** at EB/Gamestop covering the case in stickers.
- FoxFaction, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31What if the sticker was ON your eraser? :(
- billymachine, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Flamethrower works.
- aemaeth7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Goo Gone... commercial stuff that works wonders.
- FoxFaction, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23zook, i thought it was sugar.
Damn, so much for remembering :( - kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I love Goo Gone. It truly is the best in getting rid of sticky residues.
- b7illsmith, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14A little WD-40 on a paper towel works pretty good as well.
- ihate2regist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11lighter fluid works good too
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12i've been using eraser for years...
the best ones are white erasers...
DO NOT USE #2 pencil erasers!!! sometimes they stain....crappy quality rubber - saintsfan, on 10/12/2007, -10/+20Omg thats awesome!!
- Cglass, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12It's not funny to say oh my science if you have to explain it, so abbreviating something you'd have to explain means that it won't be funny from the get go. Humor isn't your specialty.
- bat-21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I've been doing this since elementary school. The eraser Kevin's using sometimes leaves its own residue. Pentel Clic Erasers (http://www.pentel.co.uk/clic_eraser_infopage.asp ) work best.
- H0LLIS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12I've used the same thing for years, rubbing alcohol, lighter fluid, WD-40, cleaners with orange in them worked wonders in a body shop I worked at,
in a pinch, a little tape rubbed with something hard over the top (like a fingernail) does the job too. - orangemarmalade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9@wacki:
to remove those logos on your gadgets, tape off the area around them, then rub them with a sugar cube (or something similar). the abrasiveness of the sugar is enough to remove the sticker without damaging the plastic beneath it. - mikev, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9But I like rubbin' the pink...
- standsolid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11damn you for using h*r to get dugg up.
worked on me, i guess. everybody to the limit. - BarriedaleNick, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Alchohol - see above!
- wacki, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9"Also cant forget using the salt to remove logos :)"
???????? what? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14come on fhqwagads
It doesn't work that well, I've tried before, it really just depends. - rkettner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Get big white erasers... they work much better, and don't require you to rub the pink away.
- shinaku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well, I tried it with a Noris HB pencil and a sticker on a pre-owned game case. I've now got pink sticker residue. Maybe the glue was too tough?
- lobsang, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6For a very very easy way, just buy something called "Goo Gone". It removes *any* kind of sticker glue without hassles, and can be bought at any WalMart in the cleaning department.
- FoxFaction, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4yeah, alcohol is my favorite "residue remover" too. :)
- hannahmar, on 06/11/2009, -1/+3This is kind of one of those things where you say "Now why didn't I try that?"
- pvdnyc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what is the square thing that he is erasing on?
- gwinerreniwg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And can cause abrasions to the surface of whatever you're cleaning. Don't do this to something you really care about the finish on.
- Y0tsuya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Alcohol is my favorite adhesive residue remover, although I try to use the original sticker to pick up as much as I can. Adhesives tend to stick to each other. If the original sticker is no longer sticky enough to clean up after itself, duct tape works well.
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too especially ??
Wtf. - OAKsider, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I third Goo Gone, nothing's better. (citric acid + ?)
- AKron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Must be a slow news day...
- Chordonblue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4You have to be careful using solvents or oils on certain plastics - they'll melt right through.
Erasing = excellent! Every year I get a few students here at my boarding school that think their leased computers make terrific objects for stickers of rainbows, unicorns, stars, etc. This is an easy solution... Well, besides having already told them not to do that in the first place, that is! :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OK i knew about this too, but i know of something that is WAY better.
ask your wife // mother // girlfriend to give you nail polish remover.
It is the best thing out there.
But dont use it over kind of a paint or it may come off the surface. - lava, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well, The trick I know is using a blow drier on the sticker as I remove it to dry the glue. It works every time.
- rmtatum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Try rubbing the eraser against some arbitrary surface.
- loveme4iamjesus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Any Australians know how to best remove the bastard stickers from JB HiFi CDs?
- Sumyunguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.biosci.ohio-state.edu/safety/MSDS/GOO-GONE%20STAIN%20REMOVER.htm
- Hurricane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The very easiest way is to chunk the old floppy (which btw is almost guaranteed to be bad after it is a couple of years old) and buy some more, at least until they finally quit manufacturing them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm so awesome to use floppy discs, they're the best!
- LeadHead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OMG HE'S RIGHT!
when i tore the sticker off my xbox 360 HD a whole ***** load of residue was left on tha shiny chrome part. yay it's gone now! although it does take a lot of eraser. - rolotomasi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2WD40 doesn't attack any plastics. Which means it's also great for cleaning plastics.
- krinthekuz, on 09/16/2008, -1/+2i use goo-gone (from supermarkets/walmart). also, if you're removing parking decals (that are stuck on by years of hot florida sun) and other similar stickers from the glass on your window, use one of those big razor blades (don't cut yourself), and then goo-gone the residue that might remain.
- bliz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I did this since primary school and can attest to ArcCoyote. it's not good on glossy and coated surfaces.
some stickyness is very hard to erase off and the more you rub it the uglier it gets... - masterdieff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bonus of +5 for using the word "literally" correct on digg.com. Never thought I'd see the day.
- Recoil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thank you very much for this tip, kind sir. You are a lifesaver! :D Now I can finally remove that ugly glue from the covers of my preowned videogames.
- ThisIsBob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Polonium-210 has been shown to be effective in laboratory trials,
- M2i1k6e, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whats a Floppy Disk???
- gilbavel, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1Goo Gone not only worked like a charm on the books that I bought, but it made them smell good! Perfect!
- Eleo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Huh, I knew this for a while. I would have told someone if I actually thought anyone cared. It just seemed so obscure that I never bothered.
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Shouldn't have got it off eBay.
- NikonDork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Acetone (nail polish remover) Does work, but be careful on what surfaces you use it on. I will dull some plastics. My mother told me if you have a really stubborn one, put a schtickle of peanut butter on it and let it sit for a while. It will just slide off.
