- swagv, on 08/13/2008, -3/+27What a pointless article that merely highlights the fact that delicious has a checkbox to keep a bookmark private to an account.
- damndj, on 08/14/2008, -1/+23FoxMarks.
- boomybx, on 08/14/2008, -0/+12I've tried del.icio.us, Foxmarks, Google sync and of course the "old school way".
I've tried to use del.icio.us but I'm not a big "tag" fan. It's not that the delicious addon is bad, it's just that I prefer having categories and sub-categories.
That's why I use Foxmarks which does just exactly what I want : a silent synchronisation wherever I am (office,home,parents...).
The Google sync is too much. I used to sync not only bookmarks but also history and id sessions (as far as I remember).
And the "old school" way, well, I don't need that anymore. - ChrisArchitect, on 08/13/2008, -1/+9delicious all the way ... in fact, delicious 2.0 all the way
- lucy22, on 08/13/2008, -0/+7I like the ability to keep them private.
- rockefeller2, on 08/14/2008, -0/+7Opera has bookmark syncronization built in. Works great. Just setup an account and off it goes.
Just make sure you remove NSFW bookmarks if you plan to synchonize at work. - Rizzler, on 08/14/2008, -1/+8I wish you the best of luck, sir. Fighting the mac, on a site flooded by their fanboys. I made it to you when you were only at -2 diggs, but I have the feeling there are many, many more coming.
- ycohain, on 08/13/2008, -1/+7i liked it better as del.icio.us
- Pixelpaws, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5I'm not a mac fanboy, but whining about a screenshot just because of the operating system is absurd.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -5/+9Yeah - delicious lets you keep stuff private. Buried for being pointless.
- mhanley, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4Mozilla Weave:

... not very private. - dheaddy, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Yup, Foxmarks ftw
- AlexNC, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Foxmarks is the only way to go. Very easy to use, and keeps the same layout of the Firefox bookmarks.
- innovaciones, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Google Toolbar is really good, you can get the same bookmaks in all your computers with the toolbar installed.
- ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -0/+21 actually

- 5xSTUN, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1You had me at "other."
- nicko68, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1I run SiteBar on my own webserver. It's cross-browser, written in PHP/MySQL.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Why would you mirror something that's not down, not going down, nor shows any signs of going down in the future?
- fireashes, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1I use delicious for public bookmarks and yahoo bookmarks for private. Both are accessible easily using plugins in firefox.
I have been using yahoo bookmarks for years now. it is not popular but that serves my needs to be private.
I was surprised that it is not there. - egoens, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Did not realize they changed their url.
- nc60659, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Export bookmarks, truecrypt, throw that ***** everywhere, and hope that you don't lose the key or forget the password.
- outreach417, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1Delicious works well. Used to use StumbleUpon too until they got bought by eBay and changed the interface. Wordpress blogs has a good widget that imports your delicious links into your blog as a sidebar, handy for sharing...
- icexe, on 08/14/2008, -1/+2jeez, what's wrong with just hitting Export Bookmarks on your browser and saving it as an HTML file? It takes like 3 seconds to do. That method has worked for me for years; I guess I made my life too simple.
- UniqueJewelry, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1Just for fun...google search on bookmarks...enjoy (we sell actual bookmarks and wondered why it gets 10,000+ hits a day!)
- unrealmp3, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1I keep them on my Google account with Firefox/Gmarks.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -1/+2Well It does mention foxmarks, which i use since i don't bookmark porn
(And people call me a perv...) - 2oonhed, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1...and I'll send you one free bookmark.
- MScrip, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Buy my product.

- Jammerdelray, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Mozilla Weave for firefox uses encryption.
- unrealmp3, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Not in Firefox 3, time to update.
- Culyt, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1I love delicious, but now I have so many ***** bookmarks its close to being a personal mirror of Google.
I just look for %90 again in Google rather than in bookmarks anyway since often I have forgotten I saved it or what tags its under.
I would love delicious if it supported some kind of depth based tag system that could also simulate to normal folder system (bundles don't count although they are an improvement). For instance I don't want 'tutorial' to be a major tag, it should only be when i go into the programming, C, C++, python, photoshop or whatever tags since I'm unlikely to ever look for tutorials on everything at once. Plus the tags I use are so random since a lot of stuff is a one shot thing.
Most stuff I frequent often I make a shortcut too, RSS when possible or just type in. - mattwilson, on 08/14/2008, -2/+2Firefox bookmarks are stored here (in WinXP at least):
C:-Documents and Settings-XXXXXXX-Application Data-Mozilla-Firefox-Profiles-xxxxxxxx
Its just an HTML file
Obviously replacing - with the appropriate slash - faceless323, on 08/14/2008, -1/+1Why would you bookmark a site(s) that you have memorized?
thehun anyone? - Reachtim, on 09/17/2008, -0/+0I did a high definition video on cabonite which in my opinion is the best online back-up for the price available. See it here http://www.beginnerstutorials.com/?tag=back-up

- marlenebmoore, on 12/23/2008, -0/+0Because of Christian Bale's highly publicized weight loss for The Machinist, he has been compared to the likes of Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull (who gained about 60 pounds) and Charlize Theron for lead role in Monster. Even though it is a great way to gain recognition as a professional and dedicated actor, you have
