Hacking the XO laptop

geek.com — I took advantage of the G1G1 program and have had one for a while now and recently had a “geek” session with Brian Jepson of HackZine and O’Reilly. Brian is a seasoned geek and a quality Linux hacker, so we had a good time playing around with the XO.

  • jakv5, on 01/20/2008, -1/+2These laptops are quite a steal as is esp considering you get a free subscription to T-mobile's wifi package... throw in a few hacks and it's really worth the price.
  • BoneStamp, on 01/20/2008, -1/+1These things are awesome. The sad thing is that all the kids that could afford one in developed nations (and therefore provide one for developing nations) are going to want windows on it. I smell a serious hack brewing.
  • schestowitz, on 01/20/2008, -4/+2Looks like a case of very happy hacking. This can grow a generation of UNIX engineers if Sugar bores them. Children are more curious than overworked adults.
