- mpcamer, on 10/11/2007, -3/+35In this picture: http://jalopnik.com/photogallery/gt500supersnake/2028200 - you can see a steering wheel.
If you have a steering wheel, it is a good chance that you can go around corners. Just a thought. - keyboardduder, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Snake? SNAKE? SNAAAAAKKKKEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20wawawewa! Im very excite!
- dshPls, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16So you and my grandmother agree on cars, nice!
- rwert, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15What car does that with 725hp???? :)
- disciple83, on 10/11/2007, -8/+19boy did you comment on the wrong post. Take your tree-huggin' hippy ass somewhere else and let the big boys talk about performance and dream of a Super Snake vs. Z06 "Blue Devil" showdown.
- Mearn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I believe you mean Nürburgring
- Error601, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Only if the Civic has a noisy exhaust and a big plastic spoiler.
- trollick, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8So... Is it a horse or a snake???
- dhastings, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Not sure if you noticed this part of the post above:
"Ford Racing suspension tuning including dynamic adjustable dampers, lowering springs, tuned stabilizer bars, and front strut tower brace"
I'm kind of getting tired of people who say that a car will be terrible on a road course simply because it has a lot of power and is a product of the United States. Plenty of cars with loads of horsepower can be controlled on a road course provided the driver knows what they're doing. I'm willing to bet that a stock Civic handles pretty poorly on a road course unless you dump a lot of money, time, and effort into the thing. - SerifTheRobot, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8'Cause she can't have me.
- epyon180, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Too bad it won't be good on the track just like every other mustang. Any car can have that much Horse power, handling is just as important. There is a reason that companies like BMW don't just up the horse power to useless levels.
- Scott2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4$250 for a set of rear tires? Thats a bargain. Try $500 for a cheap set, $650 for good ones.
- JoeB4ever, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I think the people saying it'll "spin out of control" play way too much Gran Turismo
- blacklotus135, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I must say, I am surprised and disgusted at the mentality that making something bigger or using some "higher quality" parts or ideas of the SAME OLD DESIGN actually impresses people. What are you impressed by? That they have the money to making something bigger or use more rare metals? Worthless engineering.
Redundancy does not impress me. Sheer power does not impress me. Do something different, Ford, and you might turn a few intelligent eyes your way. A tuned Subaru with only 4 cylinders will most likely be able to defeat that car in almost every technical aspect (acceleration, turning, etc...)
So until you actually make different or better cars, Ford, go ahead and continue your cockwaving "BIGGER BETTER FASTER DUMBER" contest. - epyon180, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4
@ butros
my point exactly, it's useless - 2k3john, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I think I just spooged myself...
- aserer511, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4...what? Dude it's not hard to get a 13mpg car in America, this is the least of our worries.
- g00ee, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5The outside looks nice, but where are the engine pics?
- Ricky8765, on 10/11/2007, -6/+10"boy did you comment on the wrong post. Take your tree-huggin' hippy ass somewhere else and let the big boys talk about performance and dream of a Super Snake vs. Z06 "Blue Devil" showdown."
Wait for it.... Waaaaiiit fooor iiitttt...
BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA
uhhmmm...
BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
You people have GOT to be ***** me... Just because a car has a steering wheel you think it can "take" a corner? Do you know ANYTHING about suspension geometry and technology? I highly doubt it... At least the Z06 can handle as well as a Porsche (for those who relate ability to take turns to having a steering wheel, it's pronounced Porsha). Mustangs have always handled like ***** coming from the factory, regardless of whether they cost 15k or 70k - cuoops, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3 The GT500 Super Snake package, which will be installed at the Shelby factory includes:

• Borla performance exhaust system for the 600 horsepower version; JBA manifold and back system for the 725 horsepower option
• Engine dress up kit including billet aluminum fluid caps and dip stick handle
• Ford Racing suspension tuning including dynamic adjustable dampers, lowering springs, tuned stabilizer bars, and front strut tower brace
• Exclusive Shelby- Alcoa 20-inch forged wheels with Super Snake center caps
• Shelby / Baer 6 piston forged front brakes calipers with cross drilled and vented rotors all around
• Front and rear brake cooling ducts
• Side scoops, carbon fiber front fascia splitter, mirror covers and rocker panels
• Classic Shelby design hood with functional scoops

• Center cluster with Carroll Shelby signature gauges for boost, fuel pressure and oil pressure
• Shelby embroidered headrests, Super Snake door sill plates, aluminum map light accent, floor mats and other exclusive components
• Official Shelby CSM dash plate - Error601, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You have to get the demand under control. Just wait until they get a bit older.
- LinuxGalore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The whole Mustang GT series is rubbish, if you want a car that is big and heavy that also doesn't actually put out the power specified on the badge (yes it's total BS) with handing from a 1920's model T with an interior with loose fitting parts to match then this is the car for you. If you buy one for gods sake don't try race one against a small Japanese or European sports car unless its in a straight line, you will lose what little respect you have left.
- JoeB4ever, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Pay your taxes you ***** hippie.
- chicaneuk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5You know I have to be honest and say that i'm not generally a fan of American or American styled cars. I'm not being snobbish - its not like I think European or Japanese are better but each country does have very specific ways of styling their cars.. and tastes vary, etc.
But god have they just got it so right with the Mustang (and subsequently the beefed up, high performance ones) - really really does look fantastic. Aggressive, purposeful.. and has the "metal" to back up the snarling looks. Superb. Just wish I could afford one! :( - editthis, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5You act like Ford is some sort of dinosaur company lacking creativity while heading for bankruptcy.
...ooooh right. It is. - cgoff, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5It'll suck on a road course but good luck running against this thing in the quarter mile! (or from stop light to stop light)
- KayIslandDrunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3If you can afford a 75k car why do you care how much gas costs?
- xevidentx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3go away silly american cars...
- Butros, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3@epyon
This is the mustang, not the ford gt. It goes really ***** fast in a really straight line. - norman619, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Maybe they are still designing a body to match these stats? One can only hope.
- okto, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Color me bored. It looks like every other Mustang of the past two years...plain. Ford has the oomph to make cars like the GT, they just choose not to.
- Error601, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2How many first pictures of the car can you have? All the cool stuff is under the hood anyway.
- fadetoone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Idiot.
- editthis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3This car is just silly and from this point on I've decided to stop taking it seriously.
- fadetoone, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Good luck... I was first in line at a dealer for a GT500 and bailed when they asked me to pay almost double MSRP for it ($75k instead of $40k). I now enjoy a Corvette.
I doubt you'd be able to grab one of these for under $100k, if not much more. - Beevo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4This is like the third time in a month this car has been on the Digg front page, hell you can buy a FULLY loaded BMW M3 that would run circles around this mustang in anything but a straight line for around 50k. Mustangs are fun for straight line acceleration, but until they do something more to the suspension all the horsepower in the world won't help them.
- 04TL, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1ah damnit...i live in tulsa and had no clue this car was here! ...been wanting to see it in person since i first read about it coming out...maybe i'll go race it tonight and welcome it to T-Town... ;)
- BLKMGK, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Done right the power isn't an issue and can be harnessed however the price gouging by the dealers on the Cobras and now I'm sure this car is nutz! $70K? Dream on, you can barely get a Cobra for that now much less one of these. I *was* interested in a Cobra to replace my totaled Supra and figured I'd get at least this much power out of it but the prices are out of sight - forget it Ford. Get your dealers under control....
- otero1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Can we get a picture section yet?
- SpectralSounds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4"Exclusive Shelby- Alcoa 20-inch forged wheels with Super Snake center caps"
First thing I would do if I got that car, would be to replace those ugly ass rims. I dont care if they are exclusive. They are fugly. - Butros, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1HELL YEAH, by the time we get our 2009 maros, they'll be packing LS3's, put a blower, heads and a cam on those bad boys and you can eat snake all day long. I better regrow my mullet (I kid I kid).
- Scott2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3wow, it looks just like every other "souped up" mustang I've ever seen.
I'm sure 725 horsepower is fun, but I don't own an oil well or a tire factory. I'll stick to my truck, thanks. - norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not much of a concept. Same classic OG mustang body smoothed out a bit. I was expecting something new and fesh not the same old them we have seen before. A special car like this deserves to stand out a bit more than that.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6Wow it's a mustang and it looks just like every other new mustang on the road! GREAT! *rolleyes*
- suprchunk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2At least dig into the article and link to the original piece instead of this horrible blog spam.
http://www.mustangevolution.com/shelby-gt500-super-snake/ - orxor, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Don't know about a civic si but definitely a Subaru WRX STI, or Mitsubishi Evo. The Evo8 actually beat out the Lambo Murcielago around a track on Top Gear and you can get that for half the price of the Mustang.
- SDZaeem, on 01/04/2009, -0/+0Wallpapers here http://www.getcarwallpapers.com/model/Ford/Shelby% ...
- messedup, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I drove this car, its not as fast as youd think. My neighbors tricycle goes faster than this thing.
- PassionJunkie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0heheheHEHE!! Hehehehehehe heh eh eheheheh ..... hehe. he. he.... (cough)
