- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's pretty sweet.
- JRBlack10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I would like one for creating DVD Case, with DVD cover art and such.
- oddstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Looks okay, just don't give them your email.
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/papercdcase.com?ref=safe&aff_id=0 - wphj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ewww, thats really ugly.
- nixdoctor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, it is ugly, but at least it saves you the headache of doing that in a word processor or otherwise. I think these chaps could easily expand the functionality of the cd case creator by giving a few nice backgrounds to choose from. That'd be awesome.

edit: Oddstar bet me by a few secs :) - dynacrylic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Pretty neat, but a black Sharpe and plain 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper can create a custom paper CD case and "CD label".
- bat-21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Direct link to creator Tom Hull's website:

Wphj, the reason why it's ugly is because plain paper was used. Use wrapping paper or origami paper and it will look pretty impressive. - Klaue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is nice.
really old but nice. and i think it works the best on american paper. it's harder to make it with DIN A4 (but i think it depends on the printer)
but anyway, you can do it also with A4, just some lines are not where they should be- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I've had it bookmarked on digg for some time. It works really well, and mailing discs only takes 2 stamps. Once you get comfortable folding cases you won't visit this site as often.
- zzzzbest, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8It's not really a 'jewel case'. It's a CD sleeve. A jewel case is a hinged plastic case.
- skylor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In iTunes, go to print... and it will do the same thing with your playlist. =)
- sarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2nah i use http://www.cdcovers.cc to get the ready scanned cover images and use"fuk'n'print"(http://www.sharewareriver.com/screen.php?id=1057) to scale them right and to print.
All mine look great.- basselope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@sarin
FuknPrint appears to have been abducted by aliens. Not even the Chinese sites have it.
- basselope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@sarin
- xaogypsie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3OK, here's my opinion on this:
I am not stupid. My master's program is almost done. I speak two modern languages and know two classical (Greek, Hebrew). I am a published writer. My mom even says I am handsome.
But I can't figure out how to fold this damn case......mother of god im irritated- dynacrylic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5What does being handsome have to do with folding this paper case?
- JQP123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Simplified version: Follow the folding instructions given only skip steps 4 and 5 having to do with the "wings". These are for origami perfectionists, it works perfectly well without them..
Advanced version: Abandon the printed pattern altogether. Note how the CD fits inside and use the CD itself as a guide. Follow the simplifed version above and soon you'll be easily folding these on demand from simple blank sheets.
By the way, moms always say that. - JQP123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Forgot one thing for the simplified version --- forget the double fold (lines 4 and 5) given in Step 3. Use only a single fold to form the top. You can also forget the "dog ears" if you're so inclined but they do help secure the flap.
By the way, I learned to make these from a co-worker years ago. Once you watch a skilled practitioner make one, it's easy. - xaogypsie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oohh.....it makes a bit more sense now. I couldn't understand that thing about wings, etc as I am not a visual person. Thanks for the help.
- cawpin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where the hell are you going through this "master's program" at? Sesame street? This isn't difficult.
- Atomic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Shame it totally screws up on A4 paper :(
- hdort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, it doesn't, I've created a couple using DIN A4 already. Just make sure you check the right option and print it out without scaling.
- foomojive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've used this site for about a year and find it awesome. You just print and fold: no scissors. I've used it for music CDs as gifts, covers for data CDs to deliver to a vendor, stuff like that. Works great, it's really quick, and it comes out looking nice. Only thing I wish is that they would give you the option to not print the spine text, because I never do the double-fold at the top.
- serpentskiss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5From the Advanced Options page
"If you find this service useful, please send us a mix CD of your favorite music. Check this box to have our address filled in automatically when the case is created. Please remember to fill in your return address - we may send you a CD in return."
Feckin eeijts. They want your email address, your name and address, and then they ask you to send them a copied CD. WTF? Should I just book my place in court now with the RIAA/FaST? - Spacemanspif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why is everyone complaining about email addresses? I don't even see a field to enter it. If you could find a place to put it, it's still not required.
I think it's cool they ask for a mix CD instead of the typical paypal donation. Its a different way to show your thanks.
I've used this for a while. When i forget to print one out, i'll just fold it freehand. After a few times, it's not hard at all. - Eltrkbrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Detailed Oragami CD Case Diagrams:

- maninc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0something out of nothing!!
- discopope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...kind of takes the art/fun out of making a cd cover. if you're making someone a unique mix, wouldn't it be better to give them a unique cover as well, not something spit out by a machine used by hundreds of other people?
- hniu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is another site: http://www.ros.co.nz/cdwallet/
- CBanga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, iTunes does the same exact thing.
File>Print - scald, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Would be grate if you can import cddb information to create the cd case :)
- JRBlack10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YES! Now that would be SWEET!
- Eltrkbrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For fiths using fujimoto origami:
No matter how bad your first estimated fold is, in exactly 9 marked folds total, you will have it folded in exact 5ths.
As found at : http://www.envelooponline.com/nan/archives/easy-life-through-practical-origami-fujimoto-explained- shertzerj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For me, the distance between the middle and tip of my index finger is exactly 1/5th of the paper, so I use that as a ruler. It works well and is extremely fast. You can substitute whichever digit works best for you of course. ;)

- darickard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I made a simple HTML page that allows the creation of two jewel case tray cards to be printed on a single page. It's pretty plain but it gets the job done:
