- walterk29, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31Needs a machine gun turret.
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30I wouldn't say "screw the handicapped." You wouldn't want to offend them with their new war machines.
In other news, low-speed hit-and-runs are at an all-time high. - macbookpromat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31Man, I could use that as an evil mastermind chair, screw the handicapped, I want one!

- ewc80, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Unfortunately speed is controlled by a gas petal.
- darkside23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I saw this long ago too, but this just reminds me how awesome it is and how bad i want one.
- ryland2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14@ riuele
good for you, thousands haven't - shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9No an evil mastermind should drive a Badonkadonk.

Or maybe this mounted on a Bandonkadonk. - Fryxell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6http://www.tankchair.com/video.htm
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Sure, I made a 1x1 animated GIF version for you :

- Ben - michaelpe2051, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7i am handicapped and use a power wheelchair to get around this god awful city(san antonio). since 2000 i have been stuck, flipped over etc.. because these things just have no power for the real world. the 2 power chairs that i have were fine in hospital or old age homes where the floors are flat. i actually had to call the local F.D. just to get me unstuck several times from my own yard. wheelchair manufactures seem to have always ignored the fact that some handicapped people actually have to live in the real world with real obstacles. i shouldn't have to worry about getting stuck in my own yard running over a garden hose because the motors are not strong enough to go over it(quickie and invacare i'm looking yourway). i think this type of "tank" wheelchair is great. is it a "production" chair or something someone just threw together for fun. i would love to get one allthough i doubt medicare woul approve:)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6underestimate != understatement
- KIERANMULLEN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wheelchair is one word.... Oh well.

Johnny Five Is Alive! - Jimgress, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5So when will Stephen Hawking buy one?
he could also finally get that boxing glove-on-a-spring deal too. - SquirrelOnFire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, like my mother-in-law, whogrew up camping and hiking, but after her spinal injury lacked the hand strength to use a manual chair, and so has used a powered chair for about twenty five years.
Only problem with this tank chair is its immensity-- not viable for indoor use at all, and probably tough to carry it as a "spare" in a van or car. - soulpiercer7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4THIS GUY LIVES 4 BLOCKS AWAY FROM MY ***** HOUSE!
The guy has been building them for a while. He had a display model near his house a while back with a sign.
That's so awesome. Small world - zm634, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Damn! this was my idea for a senior project. Now I'll be labeled a plagiarist. :(
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow, what a great way to make a paraplegic person a dead person.
- imyayo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1As Peter Griffin' would say: "Friggin Sweet."
- AMSRay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I hope the range is long enough that they don't get stuck in the woods! It takes a lot of power to run treads, I would be really surprised if it's electric.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2add sensors and claws
have claws extend on one side if it tips over and have them straighten it
that would keep it from tipping over - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Alas, the people who want to "get back to nature" would never use a powered chair. They enjoy using hand powered chairs, so they feel more like they need to work like the rest of us. Still sweet!
- r3becca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Title is misleading.
It's a gross overestimate to call it a tank.
Having tracks does not instantly make something a tank. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yeah, who cares if you saw it so long ago.
- belfastbiker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wish I was paraplegic to warrant such and awesome wheelchair!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3didn't i see this in one of the Quake games?
- pauldonnelly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"...it really is no underestimate to call this a tank."
Wow, is that right? It's not an underestimate at all? Who would have guessed it? - RoloTomasie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3That is unfortunate, but I'm sure they could easily modify it to be hand-controlled. They've done it for years in cars.
- GameCat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1About wheelchairs:
Several people have been killed here in Melbourne, Australia because their wheelchairs got caught in rails at pedestrian rail crossings.
I sympathize with you. Better wheels, etc, for wheelchairs are much needed. - Nydas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Your a douche.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1simple
make guidelines and add a seatbelt and whatever else the ada wants - swoopdog, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3yeah "screw the handicapped" wow go digg reaching new levels of intellect all the time!

- tavisjohn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I soo want to get one for my wife!!! She could go out in a blizzard and NOT have to worry about getting stuck in the snow, or behind a compact car!!!
- TuxedoMax, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1yeah ulyssesyt, nobody over 11 would ever want to travel on a surface other than concrete.
- botmfeedr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Grand ma's gonna love this!
- AttackGypsy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Obviously, you have no idea what its like to be confined to a chair for the rest of your life.
- supaflystud, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Not only can a disabled person go where normal people go, it can go where most people usually don't walk!
Notice the gentleman at the campsite mud bogging>>>>>>>>>>
http://www.tankchair.com/video.htm - wassah2200, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1i'm not disabled... but i want one!
- Niro, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Ooops !! i was contradicting myself there ok good i fixed it..
Old or not it's still good...very cool as well it kinda resembles that chair that Dean Kamen's. iBot, http://www.ibotnow.com which i prefer being much accessible and smaller compared to the "Tank" - Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2buried spam
- ajpeters, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0This thing is way to wide to be useful. It would take up the whole sidewalk. The ibot - www.ibotnow.com - is a lot more reasonable
- Crowforge, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2What happens when you tip over?
- Niro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Old or not it's still good...very cool as well it kinda resembles that chair that Dean Kamen's. iBot, http://www.ibotnow.com which i prefer being much accessible and smaller compared to the iBot.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Could those be any lower res?
- Combat247, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4I think its a great idea, gives disabled people more freedom, and also makes them look cool also ; D.
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1YOU DO NOT TIP OVER IN THE TANK CHAIR
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1We need to get people in those to fight!
