Even if you reach the ends of Ubuntu's default environment, GNOME, there are easy ways to use new interfaces such as KDE, XFCE, Enlightenment, and WindowMaker. On Windows, though a few of these exist, Microsoft doesn't make it too easy for the developers, nor do they support anything else. Ubuntu has many different environments available in its repositories, and even has special versions optimized for KDE and XFCE.

  • johnny222, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Aside from the small things that are great about Vista that XP doesn't have, like the better CD and DVD burning features and other minor improvements, this basically makes XP exactly like Vista. Unfortunately, they didn't include all the crashing and driver incompatibility problems to make it more realistic.
