- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+960Buried due to the user browsing MySpace on IE7, with a Yahoo toolbar...
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -21/+437Why would you want mspaint to change!?! It's been perfect since its inception.
- sheepacow, on 10/12/2007, -16/+333Vista, running IE7, with myspace open?!
Why? - bdbr, on 10/12/2007, -30/+332Well its good to know there was SOMEBODY that didn't know about it!
There are literally hundreds of things upgraded and added in Vista. Once it gets better third-party driver support it'll be a very good OS. - CraigMacrae, on 10/12/2007, -18/+309Heh, I was annoyed today when an installer was playing music whilst I was trying to listen to 1up yours, this would have come in most handy. Finally a reason to upgrade other than DX 10! :)
- nrfx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+268Oh yea? Well i've known about this since 5 minutes before pre-alpha double secret candidate #37. Nobody cares. You didn't share. You lose at digg.

Dont forget AIM pro. - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -5/+179goalie, could you please point out the volume control in firefox?
It's ok, we'll wait. - TomP, on 10/12/2007, -12/+135I want one for XP
- bovox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+103To add insult to injury, he's not even using Linux running on a Wii.
- dralezero, on 10/12/2007, -8/+103Don't worry. Vista is supersecuresz
- m3th0dm4n, on 10/12/2007, -5/+98@Solodude
Direct your sexual frustrations elsewhere please. GTFO - Zinite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+93The ability to have huge red arrows appear when MySpace is opened? SCORE!
- Applemacmad, on 10/12/2007, -18/+101"I want one for XP"
Heck, I want one for Leopard! - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -3/+84The real question is why he hasn't muted his myspace window, ughhh....
- qster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+84nice arrow
- TehDoctor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+82There is one called Indievolume for XP, but it's not free.
The per-app volume is evidence of one thing: Microsoft *can* innovate. No matter how little it may be, this feature is something that has apparently slipped by everybody else, and it's a damn useful one. I'm stuck waiting for KDE 4 to have this in Linux. ++MS. - Haroldx, on 10/12/2007, -16/+81I agree it is a really neat feature. But one of my concerns is that if some flash audio is playing will turning down the browser that is holding it turn down the flash or just the browser audio? (i.e. error sounds) Or if you had windows media player running, and you heard some music coming out of some site using the windows media player browser plugin, so you turn it down. Would it turn down both instances of WMP?
I'm not trying to bash it or anything, just wondering. - unknamed, on 10/12/2007, -5/+59Holy crap solodude.... find your meds, and quick!!
- SirSid, on 05/27/2009, -2/+52So when is the smart-alek going to post the "superior open source" version of that tool?
- TiKoZ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52"why do you people digg down anyone that bashes noobs? honestly...."
Because sometime you were a noob and nobody bitched about it.. - DolphinGL, on 10/12/2007, -4/+53There's actually alot of really nice features I found with Vista.
But sadly people are more interested in pointing out any flaws (all new software has flaws) in an excuse to justify the switch to OSX. Not that anything is wrong with OSX either, but I've found Vista fine too. - estvir, on 10/12/2007, -6/+54If you actually use Vista (Blasphemy, I know) instead of just basing your opinions on either nothing or stupid stories on Digg and elsewhere you'll find many, many small, neat things like this.
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49harold: both, and no, respectively.
- surfff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+50NICE, now i can adjust pron volumes accordingly
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -6/+50Refuse to? Is there someone regularly accosting your PC with a Vista install DVD?
- dankers, on 10/12/2007, -14/+56Running myspace...
probably has friends and doesn't run linux - synystar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42I think that was the whole point of the picture... since every damn myspace page you hit throws up god awful music that you're forced to turn off, it's a perfect example of how this is useful. Turn it all off.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+38I see MS Paint is still as good as ever.
- toasterwaffle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Agreed! You can undo 10 times instead of 3!!!
- cquinnd, on 10/12/2007, -8/+44I knew about it, its part of the changes allowed by the new audio driver model.
- acs12798, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38I was really happy and surprised when I found this. Sometimes I watch movies that are quite and pump up the volume really loud on the speakers. This makes the aim beeping noises unbearably loud. Now I just turn down the aim volume and its good.
- kbeeveer46, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37Actually, I think the Texas Hold em' game that comes with Vista Ultimate is better.
- thewump, on 10/12/2007, -10/+42I'm switching back from Linux.
- TiKoZ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35""I want one for XP"
Heck, I want one for Leopard!"
Don't worry, there's always "someone" listening.... - PhonicUK, on 10/12/2007, -5/+35Taking bets that he uses AOL, and has a USB ethernet adapter.
- damentz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I have too many shoes and these pants don't fit me.
- TiKoZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Oh wait by "sometime" i mean half an hour ago huh?
- schoate09, on 10/12/2007, -9/+35Yea, people get caught up in the hype. I know I did. I got rid of my mac, and got a cheaper kick ass PC with Vista the day it came out. I've come to love many of the new features in Vista. It's a good OS and I Love it.
- bmxboy661, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26http://www.myspace.com/dougb
ask him yourself - dougbarrett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Actually, I am a Linux user. If you look at the things I have dugg, you would notice that. I installed Vista about two days ago.
You will notice with the Yahoo tool bar that Crap Cleaner installed it by default, and I've been too lazy to uninstall it.
I'm running IE7, because it runs better on my system than Firefox does, and I'm not doing any seriously confidential things that require me to be using Firefox.
I know I could use GAIM, but I choose to use AIM Pro, since it doesn't have advertisements and I don't lose functionality that GAIM (unfortunately) doesn't necissarily offer.
If I'm going to be on Windows, then why not try out the software that is made for it?
Oh, and for all of you who said "Dugg down for using MSPAINT" and all that. That's just fine if you did, but it was nice to be able to type in "paint" and have it pop up. Sure I could use Gimp, but it's too much of a program for what I was going to do.
EDIT: I have no excuse for MySpace :-P - spazmotron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28Eh? The new volume controls was one of the first things I noticed.
I thought this would be about the new default Web 2.0 colours in MS Paint. - sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Except that you can turn off notifications in Msn Messenger...
- phaed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25still doesnt explain IE7 and the yahoo toolbar
- Miche1987, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Deny.
- MioTheGreat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19There are a ton of new Audio Features.
For example, one of my favorites: If you have a laptop, and you plug in headphones, volume for your headphones is remembered separately from your laptop's speakers. - limpidezza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Nothing gets past you, sleuth.
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -6/+22Too bad OSX didn't come with it... Making it Unique for Vista. There are always third party programs to do everything..
- lateralus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20I'm repackaging my mac mini as I type this. Apple lied in saying it was superior.
- grumpyrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Did you see what he did, using the $ sign instead of an S?
We are all impressed by your insight and will now run out and buy a Mac. -
