- AFelsinger, on 02/25/2009, -2/+5it'd be crazy to watch something like this on a multi-monitor set-up, maybe with the monitors angled the same direction as the cameras
- GawtMilk, on 02/25/2009, -0/+3This took them FOUR MONTHS! From October, 2008 to now...that's amazing. I can see this technology deployed without the over-the-air connection element - four HD cameras pointing at the same thing, loaded on to a computer and made into a panorama like this would be insane!
- MalevolentDust, on 02/25/2009, -1/+3Seems more practical for this to be used with something like security cameras. Set it up where you can pan across and have it pick from a number of static cameras. Would reduce the need for remotely swiveling a single camera.
Might also be interesting to take several feeds from a live event being broadcast on different channels and combine them into a larger view of the scene. - screwzluse, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1So.. Commenting = understanding? I know it's early but I'm getting the feeling this might be the most ridiculous statement I'll be reading today.
- TWillz, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1Lay off the caffeine camera man!
- inactive, on 02/25/2009, -1/+2For six months of work, that's an extremely impressive on-site demo. That program will be awesome.
The U.K. government has be to happy about this to. - boldfacelies, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1If this concept would be applied to a bigger area of effect, it would be much more appealing.
- kerouac906, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1So basically the panorama could have differing levels of quality across the image? Sounds odd. The RIAA would frown on live concerts being transmitted through cell phones to the web, just a guess though.
Great idea if it is combining video streams from the exact same model of camera, especially HD, to make pano video of an event. Cell phone video pano = shaky hands + drunk users = fail - piznut, on 02/25/2009, -1/+1I'm sure they stole this idea from apple in some way because as we all know, Microsoft doesn't innovate anything.
