- drGt1987, on 06/08/2009, -3/+49Do you do something else in your life except hanging around on Digg and spitting on everything that is related to Microsoft?
- oomfoofoo, on 06/08/2009, -3/+29He posts so much, one would think that he gets paid to do it.
- jamauss, on 06/08/2009, -11/+36Can't imagine that many other people I'd rather live the life of than Billy G.
Glad he's using his $$ to try and better the world. - MAGZine, on 06/09/2009, -5/+29When Bill left MS, it sort of made me sad to see -- let's face it -- tech's most innovative face leave the market. Sure, innovation in the last few years might not have been very visible, but it's what helped MS to get ahead in the early years.
You did well Bill, and you continue to do well. G'Luck in Africa. - inactive, on 06/08/2009, -4/+25These comments have malaria/aids.
- infinityredux, on 06/09/2009, -0/+15Yes, let's hope they can recover from being one of the fastest gowing and most successful companies in the world.
- oomfoofoo, on 06/08/2009, -5/+20You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel if you've resorted to using Mac sites for your anti-MS/BG comments.

What the hell are you talking about, 'a few million'.. it's more to the tune of $10 billion. That's a sizeable chunk of money even for the richest man in the world. He's not simply putting his signature on a check, he's the founder of a massive charity foundation and he's genuinely interested in bettering the world by erradicating malaria.
Through him and his charity hundreds of organisations have received grants; they recently gave out 81 lots of $100,000 grants to researches worldwide. Last year they gave out $2.8 billion dollars alone. - infinityredux, on 06/09/2009, -1/+11You need help
- stuffradio, on 06/09/2009, -3/+12The Apple guys at WWDC noted that Windows 7 had nothing new from Vista, that it was the same old stuff (even though we all know it is way snappier and stable and such), meanwhile they announce an OS that is much the same. Irony? Yes! Humorous? YES YES YES!
- bat-21, on 06/09/2009, -0/+9A good leader knows when to get out of the way. Too bad for Apple that Steve Jobs hasn't figured out how to do that.
Digg me down fanboys! - Sirocco, on 06/08/2009, -5/+14The only thing I hate worse the MS is Macfags. Go away.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 06/09/2009, -2/+9Donating millions to charity as well as starting your own isn't exactly the definition of greedy.
Being shrewd business man and earning yourself a lot of wealth does not automatically make you greedy. - jugglingjon, on 06/09/2009, -2/+9The man is devoting the rest of his life and his fortune to helping others.
- cybershoplifter, on 06/09/2009, -3/+9blow me.
- jugglingjon, on 06/09/2009, -2/+8I'm sure that's a real rational and even handed article on 'MacDailyNews.com'.
- sauron256, on 06/09/2009, -3/+8This is where he pulls up his comments.txt file and copies and pastes in "Microsoft trolls are on Digg too..."
- MicrosoftBob, on 06/09/2009, -1/+5A release candidate?
- DarkCloud515, on 06/09/2009, -1/+4You can do both?
Although I don't believe he's greedy or good riddance. - phpirate, on 06/09/2009, -1/+4Microsoft never, ever had an "edge". It had, and has, a monopoly.
- CLShortFuse, on 06/09/2009, -3/+6I would seriously love a multitouch tablet PC. It's not that the technology isn't there, it's that it's way too expensive. Tablet PCs are the future
- ACiDGRiM, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3maids?
- jason777, on 06/09/2009, -3/+5ok, he is giving a millions here and there but all the hatred he created with windows 95 onwards wont save him from hell.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Based on your English grammar and spelling, you got a bad grade.
Capitalize your nouns for the win. - jakobmakob, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3MALARIAIDS
- caseycoold, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3mattsull: I'm not sure what you are trying to argue...
is it supposed to me to GloryBeToGod's comment, or jugglingjon, who you are replying to.
and god damn "GloryBeToGod" is a lame user name.... - taikyokuken, on 06/08/2009, -2/+4No, you come on. Neither Windows 7 nor Zune HD are out yet, and the Xbox 360 is a necessary competitor in the market.
- MicrosoftBob, on 06/09/2009, -1/+3I will always miss Bill as long as Uncle Fester is at the helm.
- IFEice, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1What a nutjob.
- NoozeHound, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1I thought that, but it seems not.
As was pointed out on another Digg, we type quicker than we write.
I did a large deployment for a major financial operation, supplying many teams with tablets. In all honesty the only benefits were operationally when form-filling - we tick boxes better free-hand and the personal space experience - you sit alongside someone with a tablet as opposed to having a screen between you.
I'd still like one. - avgbody, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1How quickly do you think it takes for new software to be churned out? 1 year is not enough. I personally don't care one way or the other, but it seems MS is doing just okay.
- JQP123, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Maybe all that hatred will send you to hell.
- snached, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1I don't think you guys realize how distributed Microsoft really is. For example, the bank in which I work at is so tightly integrated with Microsoft it would be almost impossible to switch competitors.
- mattsull, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1haha yeah ment to be to god boy
- acegi, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2POOL MUST BE OPENED
- phpirate, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2If I had a gazillion dollars, I'm sure I'd donate to charities too.
Especially if it meant people not thinking of me as a huge dick for overcharging on products I sell and participating in monopolistic practices.
It works for bill gates. - Wisgary, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1I have one, the tx2z, I have it set up with win7 and it's ***** badass. It cost me 900 dollars and it has 4GB of ram, 300gb hard drive, a radeon, and... something relatively fast processor, forgot.
- FredFredrickson, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I'm no Apple fan, but I disagree; I don't think Jobs' time is up yet. I do think that Apple needs to start looking for a replacement though, because without someone with his ideas, his presentation skills, and his charisma, they'll never continue being as successful as they are now.
- caseycoold, on 06/09/2009, -3/+4My troll sense is tingling...
- boogie606, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2while MDW was clearly happy to quote the article, it was originally written by Jim Lynch and printed by Extreme Tech, which is a pc mag. just sayin'...
- cyssero, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2I agree he didn't get where he is without being selfish. No one in the business world does. But he is sharing his good fortune, and he even has Warren Buffet donating billions to charities.
In many interviews he's said he doesn't like the title of worlds richest man. At least he's giving out billions, and established plans to distribute it well into the future. There are plenty of other billionaires who give nothing to charities. He doesn't *have* to give anything either -- but it must be a great feeling to help others who are in the worst of all situations. - keviniskool, on 06/09/2009, -2/+2So they're from Africa?
- BorisKourt, on 06/12/2009, -0/+0Nice one :D
- idavidtang, on 06/09/2009, -3/+3You might be right about him jumping ship. In retrospect, Microsoft has been losing its edge on a lot of things.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -3/+3It's not "a few million", it's the largest philanthropic foundation in world history. You should totally be petty and bad mouth it, though.
And forget Digg, try convincing anyone that benefits from it that it "doesn't mean anything". - Technopundit, on 06/09/2009, -3/+3If Win 7 isn't "out yet", wtf is running on this PC?
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -3/+3His deeds as philanthropist far outweigh his questionable dealings as business man, and I think few people really grasp the magnitude of his foundation and the tremendous amount of good it's capable of doing
- bubgz, on 06/09/2009, -2/+1Gates has given away more money than I can even feasibly fantasize about spending. I'm guessing this was some sort of sarcasm? Maybe?
- RoboDonut, on 06/09/2009, -3/+1But he's still the world's richest man, while everybody else is struggling.
He has more than his share, and he has more than he deserves. He didn't get where he is by being selfless or doing anything important. He didn't cure cancer or bring world peace. He's a businessman. He was in the right place in the right time, and he crushed his competition through dishonest means. -
