Oh good I was wondering which one I should buy. - MattJF317, on 10/10/2007, -15/+61Hey, if you eat the right stuff, poo can be green too.
- GawtMilk, on 10/10/2007, -5/+48I liked the Brown a lot. It was very neutral, it felt like it wasn't a device that was meant to grab attention [and muggers]. It seems like the twelve year olds who called the old color "***** colored" will now call it "puke colored". However, I like that the designer realized not everyone wants a flashy white / black device, the colors are a lot richer than some of the competition's.
- NerveBand, on 10/23/2007, -15/+55"All the old accessories are compatible with the new devices (there may be some problems with a dock, but they'll get back to us)" -Microsoft
You hear that Apple? Thats how you treat your customers. Not by screwing them in the ass. - HUKI365, on 10/14/2007, -4/+37Disagree, I have brown hair, brown eyes, a brown TRS hoodie. I liked the brown Zune.
- GraceHead, on 10/14/2007, -3/+29I have (and love) a brown Zune.
Dig me down. - foxontherock, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21I am actually looking at the Ipod 80 since some weeks, to get all my 500+ CDs with me everywhere. But with the announcement of this Zune 80, with a wider screen, and integrated FM tuner without an optionnal plugin, I can sacrify gaming on the mp3 player, like the ipod do, and I really think that this time I'll go for MS and the Zune 80, if they finally make it available to Canada officially, because Zune 1 was almost impossible to find in Canada, except at tigerdirect.
- theberlindoctor, on 10/23/2007, -5/+20I've had a zune since last Xmas. Its a great device, I use it every day. I've never owned an ipod, but I dont really understand all the zune-hate/ipod hate BS. Its just a damn mp3 player and it does what i bought it to do very well. This, in most humans definitions means its a good product.
- daridave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14darn you, now I *have* to try that.
- NSMike, on 10/10/2007, -7/+21If you eat the right stuff, it can be ANY color. I once worked at a bike shop for the summer, and drank the blue Powerade they had there every day... Nothing like bright blue poo.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -4/+18To be fair TennisElbow, All the iPods with dock connectors won't work with accessories that require them. Also, I bought an iPod Classic and the iPod AV kit so I could easily hook it up to a TV. Didn't work. The Dock Connector has been changed in some way that video no longer works that DID work with the 4th and 5th gen (except for video on 4th gens since they didn't do that). So far, I don't know of anything that will output video from an iPod Classic.
- jm1234567890, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14No
- kevptim, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Sure, it's borrowed music anyway. When you hear a song on the radio do you get upset that it wont play again regardless of which buttons you press?
- weareglass, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Agreed. I actually think that shade of green is pretty nice.
- ghaltmann, on 11/03/2007, -10/+20Now i know all the microsoft haters will come out bashing this but Microsoft HAS had success in the hardware market. People seem to overlook the Xbox and Xbox360. It's like they don't even associate it with microsoft. Yes they've had their own problems, but Microsoft has been nothing but helpful and accommodating when dealing with any bricked 360s.
If you look at the features of the zune, and put "ipod" in place of Zune you would all be ***** yourselves with apple's originality and market-aware features.
Sure, they make a ***** OS, but as far as hardware is concerned, i fail to see a problem with considering a zune, other than being "popular".
Which is funny, because appleites pride themselves on "thinking different". - jmdajr, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13the zune has tv out as well? wow
- weareglass, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13My favorite new feature was this:
"Microsoft claims that the Zune is now a much superior option compared to the iPod."
So, they didn't claim this before? And how is this a feature? - spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7You must have missed that memo, Apple invented glass. And white. And the letter 'i'.
- Boondoggle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8What the ***** is a reply button?
Answer: what you should be using. - NSMike, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Did the original Zune sync up TV shows recorded on Windows Media Center? That's one of the features listed on the Zune 80 page on Amazon...
- drewtown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Sure it does, if you are listening to any one of your area's Pop/Rap stations, just go through and within a minute you are bound to find it again.
- Dominatus, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Saying MS took the idea of "glass" from Apple is as dumb as, oh I don't know, saying Apple took the idea of wifi from the Zune.
- sirdaz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I'm not sure if I should digg you up for the decent comment, or digg you down for taking it from /.
Ill try down first, see if I can digg it back up after. - Reziarfg, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8...The ipod came in green. No one complained.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Green_ipodmini_ ... - Griffology, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6That's because you seem to be confusing wisdom with opinion, a very easy mistake. ;)
- estvir, on 10/10/2007, -9/+13Personally I expect mine to make my bed, talk to my girlfriend when I don't want to and find all the Skulls in Halo3 for me.. but than again, I've always been told I have high expectations..
Pfft. - Greer70, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8The new interface in Vista is much easier to use than the iTunes program, and the wall of album covers gives you more information at one time than the flippy thing on iTunes. That and the bigger screen make the flash model a potential X-mas present for me.
- Elranzer, on 10/15/2007, -1/+5Appropriate icon, douche.
- MikeCerm, on 11/03/2007, -1/+5I know keyboards and mice are boring, but Microsoft's keyboards and mice are the best in the business. They've been undisputed leaders in the input peripheral world ever since the original Natural Keyboard and Intellimouse.
- tidu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Touche.
- GawtMilk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Of course the rental service will have DRM. Rentals != purchases.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Welcome to digg where if it isn't being used by someone who's commenting it's obviously crap
- CamoChris, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Is that the method the Blue Man Group use to blue themselves?
- TennisElbow, on 10/25/2007, -15/+18I think all the people who bought Microsoft's "Plays for Sure"-compatible players (as well as its partners who produced them), and the people who bought "Plays for Sure" music from Microsoft's last store (which the Zune still doesn't support) feel pretty screwed in the ass. Don't think that Microsoft is somehow above abandoning a last-gen technology.
As for accessories, the Zune is a whopping 10 months old. Let's see if they're still supporting this generation of accessories in six years. - Cruelapollo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Purple Gatorade or anything with Blue Dye #5 combines with bile and makes a nifty Neon Green color poo.
- XenophobicAlien, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Red wine does that to me too.
- Elranzer, on 11/03/2007, -1/+3Actually they don't make a ***** OS. The non-***** OS?: Windows XP. 6 years later it's a pretty stable, standard and feature-filled OS.
- salmonmoose, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2red wine turns mine black.
Oh, and if it's turning your poo strange colours, I don't think you should class it as the "right" thing :) - ShrimpCrackers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It will after the upcoming software update.
- bulletproofbra, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2Is it a custom in your family to thoroughly inspect the poo of everyone you dine with? Weird! The way I was raised I can chow down with anyone I like and remain blissfully ignorant of the end result.
- fenixconnektion, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3No, it did not. DVR-MS is one of the new supported codecs. Took them long enough.
- Ugoff, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm about to buy a new mp3 player and the new Zune makes me seriously consider buying one but it doesn't support Macs, until then, I guess I'll have to go with the Classic iPod, but I want that big screen the Zune has.
- ApolloImBurning, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"Zune Pass (the monthly subscription scheme) work with the 1 million DRM free songs, but all songs you download with the Zune Pass will still be wrapped in DRM to be recognized as a rental." - I didn't get this... so do they or do they not have DRM?
- Smills, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I am gonna digg you up just to spite you.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1XP is stable because it's more like 2000. But compared to OS X or any flavor of Linux, XP is *****.
- ronmexico, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Capt'n Crunch always turns my poo green. Does that happen to anyone else?
- ronmexico, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Sounds like you're succeeding.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Microsoft is losing BILLIONS on the X-Box.
- SilverSpoon, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Hmm...
I think I'll just wait for the iPhone Shuffle... - tidu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"Zune Pass (the monthly subscription scheme) work with the 1 million DRM free songs, but all songs you download with the Zune Pass will still be wrapped in DRM to be recognized as a rental."
Um, that's drm. don't, it's a trap! -
