- Topher06, on 05/02/2008, -0/+4Its too bad everybody hates Microsoft so much because they do make some pretty good development tools. Can't speak to the web side of things, but XAML and Blend for application development is an amazing improvement over Windows Forms and MFC (mutha f*cking crap) and (shudder) Win32. I just think that Microsoft needs to grow a pair and stop making MFC available to developers so that they can promote the .Net platform and XAML development. They really need to make XAML available with C++ instead of just C#, although C# exclusively used for the UI layer is ideal. Its fast and efficient, although I would always design backend code in C++. The amount of time saved designing UI in XAML over MFC in C++ is exponentially quicker. You can design highly customized an functional UI in days over the weeks it took to fight against MFC classes or hack something reasonable with Win32.
