- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -1/+55if microsoft doesn't buy yahoo, i'm going to. who's with me?
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -4/+25No, just an unfounded rumor to help jack up Yahoo's plummeting stock price. It worked for a while but it's back down in after hours trading.
BTW the Google / Yahoo deal will be blocked due to it's clear anti-trust issues........ - Balanced, on 06/25/2008, -0/+16As long as Michael is OK with you being in him...
- darkchild82, on 06/25/2008, -0/+13I'm in Michael, I'm sick of this saga. Someone just buy Yahoo!
- orenshk, on 06/24/2008, -1/+14I'll chip in with 5 bucks.
- burchie2, on 06/25/2008, -5/+14Cue the bitching and moaning by google. "If Microsoft buys Yahoo! it's bad for the internet". -Google really said that. I guess Google is the only company allowed to own everything on the internet. I really have no problem with Microsoft buying Yahoo!
Yahoo! is already a sinking ship, and it will be interesting to see if Microsoft Billions can do anything to right it. Though I tend to doubt it. - jjpertusch, on 06/25/2008, -0/+8and it also means 50% of the people above me in this comment thread cant spot sarcasm
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -0/+8THIS IS ONLY A RUMOR STARTED BY YANG!
He needs the market to bounce all around to save his ass. Remember his stockholder meeting is coming up and they want to fire his ass! - TotalDouche, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7It's perfectly clear in the Google/Yahoo ad deal that if Yahoo reopens talks with Microsoft, Google will fine Yahoo $250 million. These talks about a buyout being back on are just rumors so that the stupid speculators who were banking on it can dump their shares at a decent price before Yahoo plummets back into the teens.
- adidos, on 06/25/2008, -1/+8Google is for nerds? Wow, that means 59.3% (Google's Search Market Share) of the people in the US are nerds...
- mrsteveman1, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7That will only get you a -hoo.
You can pay for the ya- in a payment plan. - TotalDouche, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7The deal won't be blocked, trust me. You don't know what you're talking about. If it was a strict Google/Yahoo deal, it'd be blocked, but since Yahoo is opening up ad bidding to Google plus other 3rd parties, there are no issues, but Google's ads will win most of the time.
- Equinox1, on 06/25/2008, -3/+10People actually use Live Search?
- known, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6Let us build another Yahoo!
- chanop, on 06/25/2008, -0/+6anyone have change for a button?
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Count me in for $10 and a case of Budweiser.
- redcatalina, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Better make it $20 if you are going to make us drink Bud.
- erichw1504, on 06/25/2008, -2/+7here, i'll chip in... *reaches in pocket*... ... ..some lint!
- JasonCox, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5For the love of-
Bill, before you leave can you knock Ballmer over the head? Please? I'll make a donation to your foundation if you do! Hell, if you put it up on YouTube I'm sure half of Digg would! - sockpuppets, on 06/25/2008, -1/+6You mean the search that gave me 35% off of my ebay purchases last week, where I made $750?
I use live search. :) - santaliqueur, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Wow.
- DaviDTC, on 06/25/2008, -0/+5Uh, no they aren't. Inaccurate.
- Harlem, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4end it already
- WorldGroove, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4I had no idea about the clicking of the exclaimation mark.
nice. - DrDigg, on 06/25/2008, -1/+5With that recent 35% deal off of purchases on ebay, you bet your ass I used live search (and now I'm back to google).
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=8469 ... - JQP123, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4"What is he doing as CEO?"
Squatter's rights --- he was a co-founder.
There's obviously a lot of emotional attachment involved --- something other than cold hard business logic and it is distorting his judgment. - killerofkiller, on 06/25/2008, -0/+4live search gave me a free zune and computer bag
club.live.com :) (wasn't legit.. i used some program that gave me 20k points instantly) - suinmind, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3These talks and the on-off-on-off relationship are more annoying than my ex's.
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -1/+4Shrewed move Jerry! You will now sell your damaged goods for billions less than you could have. You are going to spend the next decade in court as your share holders hold you accountable. The guy looks retarded anyway. What is he doing as CEO?
- buddyfarr, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3the heading says $33, I will give them $35.00
- duckyinc, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3MS: "**** the rules I have money!!!1!!111!!"
Y!: " z0mg c4sh!!?!"
MS: "Ahahahah, take over time!"
Y!: "How can I win against cash?! I surrender : - duckyinc, on 06/25/2008, -0/+3Believe it or not there are more vista users than linux, guess linux failed then?
- adidos, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3What about the recent Yahoo/Google advertising deal that was just struck? That was a pretty big diss to MSFT...
- ramd3z, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4Say goodbye to Zimbra
- thetacticus, on 06/25/2008, -5/+7I love google, but Bill Gates is my hero...torn between the two...Live Search sucks.
Eh, i guess they could buy yahoo and make it a closer battle between search engines!
Only if MS makes yahoo without the cluttered search page! - icexe, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2You know what this reminds me of? Getting involved in an on-again, off-again co-dependent relationship with that bat ***** crazy girl that everybody warns you to stay away from....Break up this week, start dating Google next week, start calling again the week after that, followed by a guilt ridden night of rolling around in bed together, only to call it all off again. Much to the complete exasperation of all your friends.
- Fritzel, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2$37.00 will they take a check?
- Slashriffs, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2Its more like $8,999,999,995
- gskill, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3Just sell yourself to Microsoft already! Google will take over for the search engine industry.
- chesscat, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2What do I win? Hopefully an iMac.
- Zounas, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2^ what he said
- FutureGuy, on 06/25/2008, -1/+3Yes MS wants to buy Yahoo for 40+ billion because they are running scared of Zimbra /s
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2I'm not really for it but I'm sick of the off and on again talks. So, just do it already...
- inactive, on 06/25/2008, -0/+2If it were me doing the bargaining, Yahoo would only get a $28 a share bid this time. They are trading at $21 to $23, so that is fair. I would tell the board of directors to make up the difference out of Jerry Yang's ass.
- chesscat, on 06/25/2008, -2/+4That's cool because two bricks tied together float no better than when apart.
- clockdist, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1What do you mean "will take over...?"
- clockdist, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1I wouldn't say that Yahoo is sh!tty...it's just that Google is genius.
- JohnTyra, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1LMAO, old but funny, +1 thumbs up =)
- FutureGuy, on 06/25/2008, -1/+2Congratulation you are just the millionth person to call MS a brick.
- erlkonig, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1It amazes me that the Justice Dept (I hope that's the one I'm thinking, at least) will allow a company already judged as a monopoly to buy other companies - isn't that the one act a monopoly should most clearly *not* be permitted?
