- JasonCox, on 05/02/2008, -0/+22Wait a minute, you're telling me that we granted a patent for a freaking table that has 360 degrees worth of cameras? How the frak does that warrant a patent? It's a TABLE with CAMERAS on it for gods sake!
- inactive, on 05/02/2008, -0/+14This patent has no merit.. am sorry but you cant say you invented a turning table with cameras.. thats just dumb. I've seen this invention here in Africa, our local t.v station uses a bamboo table with cameras tied to it..
- anillop, on 05/02/2008, -0/+9What a load of crap. The whole patent system in the US needs an overhaul because if this keeps up it is going to seriously suppress innovation.
- brianara3, on 05/02/2008, -0/+7Dugg for:
1. Good point, out patent system is a joke.
2. Battlestar reference swearing - toxicityj, on 05/02/2008, -1/+8don't be an idiot. thanks.
- mcrules, on 05/02/2008, -0/+5I've got a square table with camera's on them.. can I patent that?
- marklar69, on 05/02/2008, -0/+4I'm going to patent cameras pointing at vagina's!!
- SkippyDoorknob, on 05/02/2008, -1/+4I've eaten at Round Table pizza.
- Screwy1138, on 05/02/2008, -3/+6oh dear, what will the anti-patent, anti-microsoft people say?
just teasing :) - inactive, on 05/03/2008, -0/+3I just patented oxygen, now give money!
- crazysamz, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3What's next: MS gets sued for making the Xbox because of it's distinctive box shape, which was patented last week by FedEx?? C'mon, this is a bunch of hot air and won't hold up in court. This patent is crap anyways...
- batmanz, on 05/03/2008, -0/+2Fullview: Hmm, business isn't going well, what to do...hmm, who can we sue?
Microsoft!
Hey, great idea! - inactive, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2Its the lazySusan camera patent, gee whiz, haven't you heard of that?! Microsoft always stealing the most innovative things as usual!
Yes, heaps of sarcasm, but some macfan is bound to state something like this because he/she heard it from some blogger as "true". - sstidman, on 05/02/2008, -0/+2I was about to say somethime simlar. In theory, patents are not supposed to be granted for anything that is obvious to someone skilled in the art. Clearly, this invention was obvious to pretty much everyone, especially folks skilled in the art.
Patents are a ***** joke. - brianara3, on 05/02/2008, -1/+2.. reference comment #1 by Lnet
- nickerbocker, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1I'll one up them and patent a 720 degree camera.
- Giga, on 05/02/2008, -0/+0Why do I see several references of a lazy Suzan approach on this page? The device has several cameras pointing in different directions covering a full 360 degree view simultaneously...
- inactive, on 05/02/2008, -1/+1Smells like a billion dollars
- fatdog789, on 05/02/2008, -1/+1It was granted in 1995, after the Federal Circuit passed a bunch of stupid patent-related decisions that made it much easier to get patents.
SCOTUS fixed that last year, thanks to MS, in two patent-related decisions that made it much harder to get patents on obvious or non-innovative ideas like this one. (MS challenged a patent and got the case all the way up to the supreme court). - Altor92, on 10/06/2009, -16/+2Finally, Microsoft gets a taste of its own medicine. Or should I say poison?
