How to fix long *Media Changing* times in Windows Media Player.

pdsys.org — Here’s a strange bug I was pulling my hair out trying to diagnose. My Zune media player, as well as Windows Media Player, were taking forever to start playing tracks. I would see “media changing” in the lower left corner for almost 30 seconds or so, then the song would start. That really stinks when you want to jump around different tracks and list
