Do Microsoft's EULAs have any real legal basis?

regdeveloper.co.uk — An interesting commentary about the way Microsoft's contract is given to you after the sale of the product, which is in clear violation of Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. So do these long winded EULA's have any real binding?

  • BottledSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good question, but I guess it comes down to who has the best lawyers. Microsoft has a bevy of over paid legal beagles on staff and is quite effective in forcing manufactures to toe their line. I know I don’t have the legal muscle to take them on, over a EULA. As to whether it is ethical or not, well I’ve spent 30 years in the IT business, worked on/with all of the IBM 5100 series computers also.
