- kryptogrowl, on 05/28/2008, -11/+300Wow even the Cylons downgraded to XP.
- DeskFlyer, on 05/28/2008, -2/+202YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL CYLONS
- DougieD, on 05/28/2008, -14/+140You guys can seriously make out XP from that image? It's a white goddamn square!
- hollyminkowski, on 05/28/2008, -3/+94Hey, they used it on Star Trek as well!
http://www.drbillbailey.net/images/startrek-bluesc ... - PinkChicken, on 05/28/2008, -10/+88Proof Microsoft is the downfall of man.
- wedderburn, on 05/28/2008, -0/+67Step outside, you may notice a large round object in the sky, its the sun don't stare at it or you'll go blind
- yokozuka, on 05/28/2008, -1/+51Hahahah. I don't care what OS she runs, but I would like her to be my Amiga.
OK, I'll get my coat now. - ziggotron, on 05/28/2008, -0/+49I think you forgot this isn't YouTube.
- BananaGrabber, on 05/28/2008, -2/+46In the episode "Trash" from Firefly, a garbage dumpster uses Windows 2000.
http://i28.tinypic.com/vwx1s8.jpg - BevansDesign, on 05/28/2008, -5/+46Gasp, they're right. John McCain IS a Cylon...
- da_bradler, on 05/28/2008, -4/+37it's not the white square it's the thick blue menu bar on the top of the white square. That's the default theme for windows XP and has not been used on any other OS.
Of course they could be running a custom theme on a different OS. but what's more likely, that it's windows XP default theme or some other OS with a custom theme? - GTanaka, on 05/28/2008, -0/+33MY LIFE FOR AIUR!
- yokozuka, on 05/28/2008, -3/+36If they are running XP, the colonials probably run VAX/VMS.
- a1lazydog, on 05/28/2008, -3/+32it's because when the colonials first made the cylons they used Windows 95.
When the cylons rebelled they used windows 2000 and the colonials switched to Linux to prevent hacking.
When the cylons wanted to eliminate the human race they upgrade to windows xp. The colonials went back to telephones. - ToadLeg, on 05/28/2008, -0/+27Dylson, get a life dude. I mean seriously, my god. Almost every story DeskFlyer comments in you go to.
- fugazied, on 05/28/2008, -1/+27One of the Gizmodo comments:
***SPOILER ALERT**
Cylons are defeated when they try to upgrade to Vista and explode. - nevpayne, on 05/28/2008, -0/+21Bill Gates - Cylon to be revealed?
- ThantiK, on 05/28/2008, -1/+20Buried for "upload to vista"
- diskopo, on 05/28/2008, -30/+48I wonder what Number Six runs. Windows SexP? OS Sex?
- yaddayaddayoda, on 05/28/2008, -1/+19I desperately need to come up with a comment involving Jeff Goldblum, a computer virus, and invading the mothership.
- palmdoc, on 05/28/2008, -1/+19I for one welcome our Cylon overlords. Especially if they look like number 6.
- TremorX, on 05/28/2008, -2/+19Just a heads-up, Vista isn't a living organism.
- verkon, on 05/28/2008, -0/+17If garbage dumpsters are going to run an os, isn't windows the most fitted for it?
- da_bradler, on 05/28/2008, -4/+19It finally makes sense why they call cylons fracking toasters... flying toasters screen saver anyone?
- Dumbledorito, on 05/28/2008, -2/+16Behold the power of wishful thinking.
But don't stare too long; you'll start to see the Virgin Mary in waterstains or on tortillas. - Asphyxia8489, on 05/28/2008, -0/+13I was only watching that episode this morning, damn, that bit made the laugh the first time I saw it. Kaylee is so pretty....
- geneticlemon, on 05/28/2008, -1/+14Okay, if this is the case, that means the show actually uses real computers on the show and not just pre-recorded video on repeat. That is pretty hardcore ...
- zadadka, on 05/28/2008, -0/+13Life.
Get one. - inactive, on 05/28/2008, -1/+14I Am In Your Base Killing Your D00dz
- ZenMojo, on 05/28/2008, -1/+13They tried downloading into Resurrection ships, but it took so much RAM they kept crashing; the casualties were countless.
- elvenseven, on 05/28/2008, -0/+12^ Trolled.
- HaloZero, on 05/28/2008, -0/+11I don't see any high definition image.
- BananaGrabber, on 05/28/2008, -3/+14"Kaylee is so pretty...."
That wasn't creepy sounding at all. *cough* - Asphyxia8489, on 05/28/2008, -0/+11Oh dear, my secret stalking lifestyle is revealed.
- Pzycho, on 05/28/2008, -5/+16I will BSOD on her face.
- NSMike, on 05/28/2008, -1/+11I think McCain should just yell out "Shut yer Frakkin' mouth!" once. He'd SO have the geek vote.
- stretch611, on 05/28/2008, -0/+10Thanks for the pic, but that is too blurry to definitively tell what OS is being run. Does anyone have a better pic?
- jmpeagle, on 05/28/2008, -1/+11it's a joke. Do you think McCain is also on Battlestar Galactica.
- stretch611, on 05/28/2008, -2/+12I want her and Boomer to interface with my joystick.
- NSMike, on 05/28/2008, -0/+10You must've missed the miniseries where the entire colonial fleet, except Galactica, gets hacked. Obviously they were running XP pre-SP2.
- eightyd, on 05/28/2008, -2/+11I'm content with just burying you.
- Digger1218, on 05/28/2008, -0/+9EN TARO ADUN!
- 8teve, on 05/28/2008, -5/+14I wonder if Cylons ever freeze up when trying to download to a new body.
- culbeda, on 05/28/2008, -1/+10Eww... GUI!
- Professr, on 05/28/2008, -0/+9Which is why they're still around!
- qwertydvorak, on 05/28/2008, -2/+11i would rather know what sharon is running on.
- staticneuron, on 05/28/2008, -1/+10Independance Day was just a modern retelling of War of the worlds..... just done in a campy way. I liked it. Alien invades.... fries the capitols with their weapons, none of our weapons work and as soon as it seems all is lost....... a virus takes them out. the big difference is that in ID4 humans creaded the virus and in war of the world it was dumb luck cause we sure weren't getting close enough to the aliens without being killed.
Of course I like war of the world better but ID4 has charm. - ZenMojo, on 05/28/2008, -1/+10I'm thinking she's a Cougar 10.1 kind of girl.
- briantek, on 05/28/2008, -0/+8I wouldn't call that a high definition image....
- Myztry, on 05/28/2008, -0/+7Like:
I found it ridiculous when they planted a Virus on an Alien Ship in Independence Day. But now it's starting to make sense... -
