- donkz, on 04/14/2009, -8/+66It still cannot arrange icons by penis.
- MCA2142, on 04/14/2009, -4/+60A lot of these aren't just "Vista Irritations."
4. My PC makes annoying clicking sounds - Same in XP, same in 7
7. I've accidentally deleted desktop icons and I want them back - same in XP and 7. Not a OS irritation. User stupidity.
8. I don't know why my PC keeps crashing - same in all windows/OSes
9. Windows Update keeps interrupting me - same in XP, same in 7
10. Logging in takes ages - same goes for many OSes in the market. Depends on installed apps/services/hardware - Taomyn, on 04/14/2009, -18/+57Buried to prevent people actually taking notice that at least 2 of these suggestions lowers the security of your system. UAC is only a pain once you've finished installing the system - after that unless you're continually changing the system or updating software, you'll rarely see it.
- cozinator, on 04/14/2009, -8/+44how about an up button in Windows Explorer?
- benologist, on 04/14/2009, -11/+42Irritation #11 ..... sycophant blogs spewing out crap articles like 10 random things some people won't like about Vista. Logging in takes ages because you have to enter your password? Can't see what's happening when you defrag? Just ***** off.
- johnomaz, on 04/14/2009, -3/+31Too bad you can't solve stupid users.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -5/+26Because the breadcrumb bar works better in almost all cases. (I wouldn't object to having it back though!)
- manstein01, on 04/14/2009, -2/+20Install something else then?
- kevin52094, on 04/13/2009, -9/+27I wouldn't call exactly call some of these irritations, some are just minor annoyances if that.
Vista isn't that bad for me. It's not better than XP, but it still isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. - mikbunn, on 04/14/2009, -3/+18My #1 Vista Irritation: SP1 fails to install every time
Windows' Recommendation: Install SP1 - lutiana, on 04/14/2009, -1/+15Your actually right, it does work a lot better, just takes getting used to.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -1/+14Feature-wise it is substantially better than XP. Performance wise it is not.
Not that I ever had a problem. - digitalpencil, on 04/14/2009, -0/+12i understand this is being remedied in 7..
- Beatmiser, on 04/14/2009, -0/+12The one Vista issue I keep having to fix for my laptop users has been that they keep randomly losing wireless, if anyone else is experiencing it, it's due to Vista shutting off power to the card to save battery life and can be fixed under the advanced settings of the card properties.
Hope this helps someone :) - EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -3/+14Don't know why you are being buried. you are right.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -2/+13Agreed. I don't even want to know it is defraging. Who cares? If it told you "hey, I'm defragging your drive!" most users would panic and not know what the ***** was going on.
This article is largely retarded. - bittdude, on 04/14/2009, -0/+11Explorer Click? Really?
Sure it's sometimes annoying, but it's been around since at least Windows 98, hardly a Vista thing.... - graywolfz10, on 04/14/2009, -0/+10I bow to your trolling abilities BlackChick.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -0/+10Largely agree.
Regarding point 4, I'm pretty sure all previous versions of Windows did this back to Windows 95 after you installed IE4. I know for sure Windows 2000 Professional clicked. - sigmaman2, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9@BlackChick
ROTFL No, you're not ignorant because you are black. You're just ignorant. - Defiant001, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N38a5ja26xY
- Brandoskey, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9you don't even have to do that! you double click the icon in steam and the damn games run, it's really that simple.
you both must have driver problems, you know the drivers that came with your video card on the disc are outdated the day the card comes out right? never use those, EVER! - Beatmiser, on 04/14/2009, -0/+8I'm going to assume for the sake of my sanity that you are just trolling. But in the off chance that you aren't, no... I meant the statements you make have zero validity and when posted as fact just make you look stupid. Nothing at all to do with race.
- lornefs, on 04/14/2009, -0/+8Works fine for me.
- robotfriendly, on 04/14/2009, -5/+13Click the little "Classic View" button on the left side. Difficult, I know.
- inactive, on 04/14/2009, -2/+10Yes there is. I just did it. And now I'm sure you've never touched Vista.
I even tried it with network shares. Works just fine. - EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -1/+9No, you don't have to ***** around in the registry, you can do it from the security center. But it's ok, because it kinda sums up how little you know about computers and why you think UAC prompts are bad.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -3/+11I don't quite get your point. Are you saying Vista's Network and Sharing Center is worse than XP's network Connections implementation? I would not agree with that. Vista/7 implementation is a million times better.
I don't think I've ever said Vista is "not that bad". I think it is substantially better than Windows XP in almost all computing environments(excluding netbooks and specialist software areas, like 3D CAD). I have to use XP every day at work and I really hate it. It has gotten really ole, really quickly. - PDubNYC, on 04/14/2009, -0/+8Haha, no, you're lack of knowledge about WTF you are talking about makes you ignorant. And your immediate playing of the race card just makes you look like a moron, black or white. Strange thing is, in your mind, ignorance is somehow tied to being black, don't ask me how...
- danwallace, on 04/14/2009, -0/+8Here's a thought: if you can't afford a modern computer, don't expect to be able to use a modern OS.
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7Can't vouch for Vista because I don't have it installed any more, but when you paste a folder destination into the address bar of a fresh Windows Explorer window in Windows 7 it automatically generates the breadcrumb bar and allows you to navigate as normal.
Thanks for making me check this! Might come in handy... - Solkre, on 04/14/2009, -2/+9Your employer probably wants to get some work done.
- davidjunit, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7I have Vista set to remember each folder's settings and it STILL continues to forget them. I think I read somewhere that Vista has a limit to how many folders it'll actually remember settings for and you can increase that number but I never bothered looking into it. :\
- PabloMac, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7Or Solitaire, either.
- BeefPopsicle, on 04/14/2009, -6/+13welcome to 2006, all this ***** is common knowledge
- EdGasket, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7Thanks for confirming.
You are not for real, and are just trolling.
On the very very slight chance you really are that computer illiterate, then whoever told you that was wrong. You definitely do need anti-virus and anti-malware software. Coz you really don't seem to know what you are talking about. - WickedDrag0oN, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7Irrelevant, I've already moved to windows 7.
- Beatmiser, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7"Apple is bad because they can't get their OS to work on cheap computers"
Your ignorance is astounding. - bluesatin, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7Just running them with the compatibility option 'Run this program as an Admistrator' works fine for me on 99% of programs.
- WickedDrag0oN, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7Calling a fanboy a fanboy, while being a fanboy is somewhat ridiculous yes?
- danwallace, on 04/14/2009, -0/+6And never play any Direct X 10 games?
- Zapkiller, on 04/14/2009, -1/+6Linux
- sigmaman2, on 04/14/2009, -1/+6LOL
I'm playing "solitary" on my Ubuntu laptop right now! And, Yes, Dell, HP, Acer, etc, do sell Linux on PCs. Of course, if you're going to spend $600 on a PC just to play games, why not spend an extra $100 for the antivirus and anti-malware software you will need too? Add another $100 for produtivity software to make it useful, plus another $200 for the games themselves. That's what you bought with your $600 PC...the need to spend another $400. - ig88b1, on 04/14/2009, -2/+7Did you just squeal like a girl and go "Yucky Yucky"? Maybe you should switch to a mac...
- themastersb, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5"5. My preferred folder view keeps getting changed"
This keeps pissing me off so much. - danwallace, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5I've played both in the last week with no problems at all. Maybe it's you?
- DarkLaughingMan, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5Was there ever a solution for the slow file copying?
- kokoshka, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5latest drivers? that shouldn't happen
- aabril, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5"How to remedy the most problematic niggles in the OS"
Niggles? really? - lornefs, on 04/14/2009, -1/+6Your doing something wrong if you see a BSOD anymore.
What crap are you running anyway? -
