- tj111, on 04/23/2008, -1/+12Why would you want to use iTunes? Amarok makes iTunes look like WordPerfect, Amazon MP3 downloader gets you all the legit music you want (DRM free!), what else do you need? Thats not to mention Songbird, Rythmbox, XMMS, etc etc. No need for iTunes on Linux, don't want it or need it.
- z0mbie2099, on 04/23/2008, -1/+9***** no.
- inactive, on 04/23/2008, -1/+7Hell no,...why would anyone do that?
- ArthurSucks, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5One of the perks of Linux is the many choices in applications. We've got Amarok, Banshee, Rythmbox, Juk, Audacious, and a slew of other very feature rich music players. It's hard to see what iTunes could bring to the table that Amazon Mp3 + favorite Mp3 player can't.
- TacticalPenguin, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4A good part of the reason I use linux is for amarok and lack of system resource hogs - iTunes defeats those both. Songbird is another good alternative - has built in piracy search button!
- R3morse, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4Only if the full iPod range will function correctly, otherwise don't bother.
- FapCommander, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3No, no I wouldn't. I don't even use it on my mac, or my windows pc
- vln004, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2in short, no
- ninja0, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Wouldn't use it, but it would be a nice option. The reason I bought my my cowon D2 is because it runs linux and I just plug it in and drag and drop. iTunes you HAVE to use for some iPods for certain features, and you have to convert the files, etc. I know a lot of people that ONLY dual boot to windows for iTunes! Its pathetic! come on apple, OSX runs under UNIX, and linux is pretty much UNIX so put it together.
- ninja0, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1thats a slap in apples face. haha.
- actionM, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2Hell no, I don't want that crummy bloated crap on my lean Debian machine. But I'll vote yes, just because it can't hurt to have the option :)
- Portachking, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2First of all no.
Secondly, this petition comes around every four month or so.
But thirdly I cannot see Apple ever porting iTunes over to linux. The whole point of iTunes (and now Safari which is an encouraged download on windows systems with iTunes) is to familiarize people withe the apple interface and warm them into making an apple hardware purchase. There is no incentive to make people aware of the Linux alternative to PC as well. - iRelinquish, on 04/23/2008, -5/+3Native Iphone support?
