- php4me, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7Yes it's Adobe's fault but there is something "we" can do about it.
If Firefox didnt' crash along with Adobe it wouldnt be as big of an issue.
It should not rely on Flash to stay afloat.
Think Google Chrome or ndiswrapper and I'm sure Firefox can handle the Flash crash. - 4DFX, on 09/24/2008, -1/+7That's Adobe's fault and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it.
- GutterMoo, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4Ubuntu dominates my OS market. I dual boot XP for the occasional game, which used to be FFXI and doesn't work in Wine.
- inactive, on 09/25/2008, -0/+4Dude, who the hell wrote this article? There's like 10 million spelling mistakes in there.
- php4me, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4Flash Linux 10 beta 4 seems relatively stable.
But Firefox should isolate Flash so it doesnt crash when Flash crashes. - TheWindBlows, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2The only reason reverting to XP is chosen over Linux is because people don't really know about linux.
- brisbin33, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1wow. yeah, i have no tolerance for that... buried
- Insanitation, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1No.
- weizbox, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1What version of firefox and flash are you running? I'm running Firefox 3.0.2 and Flash 9.0.124.0, and I have yet to run into a page that makes firefox/flash crash. I might just be going to sites that just happen to work better.. so give me some sites that are giving you issues.. unless it seems random? I'm currently running 64bit Gentoo, but tbh.. the distro shouldn't matter.
- inactive, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Wrong. I tried it. Back to XP and OSX.
- totemtonzzz, on 09/24/2008, -1/+2Hi Deuce, what's your browser? About week ago I use Opera and flash also crash. But then I've found there's an update available. and it's ok now
- TheWindBlows, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1Try playing an audio on http://playlist.com with firefox 3 and Flash Player 10 beta/rc
There are plenty of crashes like that too still. - Waterrat, on 09/24/2008, -3/+3` I also had problems with Ubuntu and flash, also updates would break Ubuntu.
I've found Mepis , Mint and Cosmosis Linux do not have the above problems.
Now if they can fix those problems, they may have a chance. A friend of mine thinks they need to change the name though. - totemtonzzz, on 09/27/2008, -0/+0bill gates?
