We can run them all. Dual boot or just Virtualize. I would really recommend Virtualization. It's pretty neat. One draw back tough. It's not a great solution for gaming. For the most part.
- NoozeHound, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1The headline is misleading but the point he makes is mostly right. I know of one lady that was talked into buying a Mac by her son but that was because she had a really flakey PC. The son continued to use his Thinkpad with XP. I have installed and used Ubuntu, but as an experiment, not because I needed to. I have XP and Office, my wife and kids know the interface, why change it to confuse them? If it works (which my XP install almost universally does) why change? Whilst being initially easy to install, my Ubuntu experience decayed rapidly on the upgrade and even then it failed more times than my XP install. I think the point is perfectly valid. The point above are moot. The apps are a a matter of preference. Gimp and Firebird are free the others aren't. Fanboy nonsense. If you are talking about fresh installs or running apache or oracle, you get the point.
- 4DFX, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Why would anyone choose a Ferrari when they already have a Zastava.
- knight666, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1I mean, what's the deal right?
Why would anyone choose Firefox when they already have Internet Explorer?
Why wouldyou use Firebird when they already have Outlook?
Sheesh, who uses GIMP instead of Photoshop?
And who are the insane people that use Pidgin instead of Windows Live Messenger?
