- TheVarGuy, on 07/07/2008, -0/+4Folks: Notice that "comfort" and "safety" were in quotes ... the author of the blog is an Ubuntu Linux user, and was certainly joking when he put those words in quotes. Read between the lines.
- daftman, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2The majority of people can't handle choices.
It's much easier when decision are made for them. It's sad but true that most would love to be sheeps as long as you don't tell them that they are sheeps. - MetalPhoenix, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Rubbish. linux IS all about choice. as a regular user, I feel that its quintessential that so many choices exist. It reduces my work to a great extent. Newbies might have issues, but everything gets flattened out once an year or so of experience is achieved. It is then that you will truely appriciate the magic of choice.
- depro9, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1We will have even better flavors of linux now. Distributions who will be pushing forward faster than the big guys could. Expect some amazing things to come.
- leodavinci, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1I would say more people know about Ubuntu then Red Hat. I have quite a few friends that are now running Ubuntu that have no clue what any other distro is. Ubuntu equals Linux to them.
A quick look at Google Trends gives some evidence to my guess: http://www.google.com/trends?q=ubuntu%2C+red+hat%2 ...
