You are royally missing the point of the blog. The LHB is obviously written by someone who knows Linux very deeply and broadly, and you don't get to know a platform that well unless you really appreciate it.
But what the LHB guy knows is that sometimes the best way to get someone to work on a bug that has been long ignored ("work in my machine", "need more details") is to get the nerds who maintain it pissed off. So if the story gets on the frontpage of Digg or Slashdot they fix the damn bug just so they show the LHB and everyone else that they can, and everybody wins. Think LHB as an ombudsman for the Linux crowd.
What gets mom and pops scared of Linux is not a blog, is the damn command line, is when their kid has to go to ubuntuforums to fix their wi-fi problems or open xorg.conf to configure the monitor, because they know that when Junior is gone there's no way in hell they'll be able to do that themselves. - flatfish, on 08/08/2008, -0/+5Dugg!
