- icyhaught, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2This would be great if it doesn't die off like the others that tried to replace the xserver. I have seen some great improvements in the last few years with the xserver, especially with the modularization and Xgl & AIGLX , but I still feel that there is a lot of cruft and hacks to get the modern desktop to do what developers want. A new start would be nice, but there is so much weight behind X it would be hard to get everyone to port over so you would end up running rootless X for a long time anyways. Maybe it would probably be better to take the hit now.
