- nanostream, on 11/29/2007, -17/+322Wow, those stickers look nice, but send out all the wrong messages about Linux Distros by and degrade any PCs they are stuck on. They basically say that the PC is running Linux BECAUSE it cannot handle Vista (but the user would be running Vista - the better OS - if the PC was capable.) Good idea, bad execution.
- freakon, on 11/29/2007, -46/+205This is getting stupid. Don't these people have anything better to do than post fake vista stickers to make themselves feel smug? I mean, Is anyone going to use this? Will anyone remember it in a week?
- Ocelot13, on 11/29/2007, -4/+117yea, someone will submit it again here in a few days and we'll remember its a duplicate
- ryan83189, on 11/29/2007, -7/+101I would be better to put a sticker under the windows one that says "liberated by linux" so it reads "designed for Microsoft Windows, | liberated by linux"
also , my god we are becoming smug. we are no better than mac fanboys, it's one thing to have an os sticker, but trashing the completion with it is a little much. - richardiscool, on 11/29/2007, -34/+107Oh, just ***** off.
- DiggLive, on 11/29/2007, -4/+65I completely agree. It's also saying OS X machines can't run Vista, and they can.
- DefaultGen, on 11/29/2007, -10/+65I'm going to put an "Ubuntu incapable" sticker on all of my games that don't run correctly in Linux just to feel smug about myself for dual booting...
- convergent, on 11/29/2007, -12/+58It's really not funny, it's getting old. Everyone stick with your OS and don't shove ***** down other people's throats. We'll decide for ourselves what to use.
- rezist, on 11/29/2007, -7/+52_wow_ Are there any diggers over the age of 15 anymore... please?
- ajchavar, on 11/29/2007, -6/+51why are they all "xxxx_vistainapable.png," couldn't they get that "C" in?
- Urusai, on 11/29/2007, -4/+38My computer is plenty capable of running Vista. I just don't.
- Philluminati, on 11/29/2007, -8/+40Is there a fedora 8 one? Infact, is there a version without the number at all? (That way it will still be valid 6 months later)
- legendxx, on 11/29/2007, -22/+54more proof that nerds use linux just to be smug about it.
- AlphaSoulja, on 11/29/2007, -6/+32Windows Vista - Windows Vista Incompatible
http://alphasoulja.googlepages.com/Windows-Vista.j ... - treyd, on 11/29/2007, -1/+27Man, thats a hi-res image.
- neko, on 11/29/2007, -13/+38...and your user icon is the windows logo.
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -4/+28They'd look pretty cool on, say, a WRT54G or a PPC mac though.
- lastberserker, on 11/29/2007, -5/+28I want "Designed for Windows XP / Windows Vista Incapable", please! In fact, 4 of them, one for each of my boxes :)
- izzybr, on 11/29/2007, -1/+24You must be new here. 95% of digg is fanboism and posting comments about vista, ubuntu, and leopard, which seems to be like a game of paper, rock, scissors, with absolutely no agreement as to what beats what
- graeh, on 11/29/2007, -6/+22Agreed. Pretty childish approach.
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -2/+17"Vista Intolerant" would be better.
- ryan83189, on 11/29/2007, -7/+22It's one thing to have an OS sticker , but this is trashing the completion. That makes windows users ask "how is it better?" and you can never really convince them it is, because you have to be able to do everything a windows box can do, with the software they are familiar with , not just use a more efficient gnu one. Just a conversation starter to trash talk vista , thats all.
- RichLatherX23, on 11/29/2007, -2/+17"Windows Vista Compatible, XP By Choice". I'd gladly sport one of those.
- 4DFX, on 11/29/2007, -1/+15Now that's a sticker with the right message!
- Shootfast, on 11/29/2007, -1/+14Hurray, the countdown is going up! Microsoft lawsuit happens at ∞
- schoate09, on 11/29/2007, -6/+19But if it we're a penguin, it would be a different story...
Just because in a crowd on linux fanboys, there's one that likes Microsoft, why he must be cast away unlistened to just shows such ignorance. Brand recognition here is ok if you're Apple or OSS user, but if you like Microsoft, you must be "Teh Ba11m3r !nv@d1ng 0ur p@g3s!!!!" - slythfox, on 11/29/2007, -3/+16Pointless comment with a looping argument. Like this one.
- skywake, on 11/29/2007, -3/+15***** digg troll bastards. I joined this site hoping for some meaningful comments. but noo... every ***** day all I see here is bash this, bash that, hate this topic, hate that topic. What kind of ***** up people are on this site!? pissing me off. Its like the you are cool for bashing topics that you have no interest in with meaningless poorly constructed comments. (I do not take responsibility for the poor structure of this comment)
- Myztry, on 11/29/2007, -0/+11You mean like those "Microsoft Windows Server" FUD ads that appear when you search for Linux? You have a point though. Imitating morons isn't the most self flattering way to go about things.
- MasteRR, on 11/29/2007, -1/+11Sad how many preloaded Vista machines need that sticker.
- init100, on 11/29/2007, -2/+11"you dont see microsoft releasing ... adds saying Mac/linux sucks"
No? I guess you never heard about Microsoft's Get The Facts campaign. That was just a polite way to say that Linux sucks. - tmgneuguy, on 11/29/2007, -10/+19Clever idea. Not trying to start an OS war here, but from all the news lately about XP out-benchmarking Vista, maybe even a "Designed for Windows XP (Vista Incapable)" sticker would be appropriate!
- GMorgan, on 11/29/2007, -0/+9Their CPU scheduler is based on the same principle.
- init100, on 11/29/2007, -0/+8You can, at least on the old one before they switched to VxWorks.
- Petzke, on 11/29/2007, -14/+22Seems childish to me...
- schoate09, on 11/29/2007, -0/+8I can run linux on my WRT54G?
- Remmy, on 11/29/2007, -4/+12There are thousands of PCs incapable of running Vista, but these stickers imply that running Linux means your computer isn't capable of running Vista, meaning your computer is outdated, which mine is not, so these stickers are an insult.
They should have just said, Linux Capable. - DefaultGen, on 11/29/2007, -0/+7Thanks for one that actually made me smile :-)
- MarkOfTheDead, on 11/29/2007, -0/+7Green OS. The flavor of linux running a $199 everex pc I just bought my mother for xmas. set up nicely for people who aren't too tech savvy or who want to just do email (via thunderbird), web browsing (via firefox), music ripping/listening (forget the name of these) and small office tasks like spreadsheet and word processing (via openoffice). Not to mention that, the desktop layout is similar to the mac dock for ease of access.
- cr1t, on 11/29/2007, -9/+16More windows bashing how origional.
- init100, on 11/29/2007, -0/+7Make one yourself? It wouldn't be very hard to substitute one of the Linux logos for an XP logo.
- bubba9999, on 11/29/2007, -0/+6Have you ever seen what happens here when a girl gamer posts?
- luchid, on 11/29/2007, -0/+6www.dd-wrt.com
- GMorgan, on 11/29/2007, -1/+7Yes but we have a secret weapon. Facts.
There can be no argument about uptime statistics. - brstilson, on 11/29/2007, -0/+6You're prepared to judge an OS you freely admit to not having experience with?
- Stalks, on 11/29/2007, -1/+7You're an *****. Blocked.
- RyeBrye, on 11/29/2007, -2/+8Not since Fedora Core 6 - Fedora 7 dropped the "core", and Fedora will keep with that naming scheme now. Fedora 8 is the current version.
- AF-Geek, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5http://openwrt.org/
- thehemi, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5They should say... Vista Capable. Linux by Choice.
