That it works with so many different blog services is awesome and it almost made me want to try it out (yes, seriously). But it does require the .net framework to install, so it's a Windows only program (and no, this doesn't surprise me).
Oddly, the author calls it a "specific need" for his blogging work. Weren't bloggers able to blog before WLW came along? I understand that it's a specific app that he *wants*, but there can be a vast difference between want and need. Not trying to trivialize what he wants, just sayin' there's an important difference, because the tone of his writing is that it's somehow the fault of Ubuntu that WLW doesn't work on it.
I'm also curious about why WLW is called "Live". What makes it any more "Live" than any other blogging tools? The reason I'm asking is because Microsoft likes to slap the words "Live" and "Open" on things whether there's any real openness or live-ness involved, or not. So, I'd honestly like to know the answer. - drgmdp, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2"With Ubuntu your hard drive "thinks" a lot less. Anyone who uses XP is very familiar with the hard drive "grinding" for absolutely no reason with the OS just sitting there doing nothing. What is XP doing? No one knows, but it’s doing something. Ubuntu doesn’t do this. Ever."
i'd say defragging. i've never defragmented my laptop since i bought it yet i don't have the need to, always < 5% fragmented. and i dl and move and delete files and folder daily. - drgmdp, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1live is their renamed network since a few years ago. hotmail now is called windows live mail, msn messenger is windows live messenger and so...
and they work pretty well as a whole. - Heywoodj, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1XP boots faster then Ubuntu? I've never seen this. Black XP maybe.

New tools are 'foreign', but it doesn't necessarily make them inferior.
