- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The colors are terrible and the letters are too small. Light brownish-orange doesn't working when someone's bombing down a freeway at 60mph. "Servers and" is totally unreadable due to low contrast. Plus, if someone doesn't know what "Linux" is, why would they care about a version that is for humans?
- i440, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Adobe just needs some kind of incentive to get Flash 9 for Linux released.
Visitor: "Is Flash 9 for Linux ready yet?"
Adobe Exec: "Eh, maybe in 2007."
Vistor: "I have a million dollars!"
Adobe Exec: "Oh goodness! Yes! It'll be ready within the hour. And we'll release the sources too!" - i440, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know I'm being shallow here, but they should really indicate that it's free on the billboard. Once they do, use will (like magic!) skyrocket.
Husband: "Hunny, guess what? I saw a Ubuntu on the freeway!"
Wife: "What did it do, sweetheart?"
Husband: "No, it's a new kind of Windows! And it's free! Forget paying $150 each time a new version comes out!"
Wife: "That's nice, hunny. We should put on of those into the computer."
Now, is it ready for a family like that? I'm not so sure. But a lot of people would love stop paying for their operating system. Of that I can assure. - mDot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@joelito
Nah, MySpace requires Flash 9.1337 to be leet. As cool as Ubuntu is, it's still left out in the cold*.
*Before anyone chimes in about Wineifying Firefox or running Windows in VMS; I know. - mDot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ugly. Mind share is good, but do you really want to be known as the distro with the corney ass billboard with that clever 1980's inserted text, ugly colors and poor design?
- joelito, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Are you saying that Ubuntu is intended to the average 1337 hax0r myspacer emo?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I think it is well designed. The colors match well, it gets the point across very quickly: Ubuntu is a Linux distro that is easy for people to use. The only thing they need it a link. Although, anyone who can install Linux knows how to use Google.
