Woot, thought it was just me - wedderburn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12dugg because my suspend/resume works for the first time since moving to linux in 2002 :D
loving the release so far - ssam, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads for PowerPC and PlayStation 3 versions
- schoate09, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13He's telling us about issues with the beta, I don't see that as an issue.
- MavRevMatt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Only a little while 'till the beta now!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I hope it has a place where you can manually type in the resolution your want without touching xorg.conf
- LingNoi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Works fine on my widescreen laptop. What do you mean?
- kazamx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10I had the same problem. for some reason it doesn't seem to connect to the net to get the driver. I found a weird workaround. Simply open firefox visit a webpage then it works
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Did anyone actually care?
- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Explain why you think so, or prepare to be buried.
- HermitZidler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I hope it has more wide screen support.
- zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Reasons or troll.
- kwilms, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Props to the Ubuntu guys at Linux World for hooking me up with some stickers. I promptly pasted them all over my computer at digg =)
- ArthurSucks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7"More" means more than it already has. For example, HermitZidler screen is NOT supported and yours is, so MORE might fix that. :)
- volanin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The beta will be released on September 27th.
There is still Tribe 5 and Tribe 6 before it.
To check the release dates, go here:

- radam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Same here. And here I was thinking, "Ok, what the hell did I do wrong to screw that up?"
- zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10This isn't really a support forum.
- zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Canonical will actually send you stickers for free as well.
- LingNoi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+56.06 is old unless you want the long term support option. Gutsy isn't a long term support release though.
I suggest trying out 7.04 which is Feisty Fawn. - MaHaGoN, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I have been seeding the kubuntu torrent all day. I love FIOS, and the fact I can provide 20 people with the CD just in that time.
- kazamx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Just remember that the OS will be very slow off of the CD. I had a guy a convinced to give a live CD ago come back to me and laugh "that is the slowest OS ever, no way can I use it" I had even told him that it worked slow from the CD :-(
- Sabretou, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Democracy is the worst form of government. Except all the others they have tried."
On a very similar note, I've found myself saying "Ubuntu is the worst operating system. Except all the others I have tried." All versions of Windows included. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Wow. I popped in the Tribe 4 cd and it automagically detected that my battery had been recalled. Wasn't expecting that. I had no idea that this recall had happened before ubuntu told me. Thanks uBuntu!
- spikeyone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Did you order Feisty from ShipIt? My Feisty came with a couple stickers. :)
- kazamx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Thanks for the save ;-)
it worked 5 min ago when I posted the link - zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6It's actually an alpha.
Also, he really isn't describing his issue, but seeking assistance. For his sake he should go to some sort of recognized ubuntu support site. - schoate09, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Linux ***** like you give it a bad name. Suppose he's a recent convert, and is stuck with what he has? Eh, dumbass?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Lighter is not always better. Don't get me wrong, light is good... Openoffice.org is more of a full suite. (MS Office Replacement) I would rather use OOo unless I am running a slow PC during which I would be running Xubuntu anyway, not Ubuntu, as I do on my web server. I use all Ubuntu on my desktop and laptop PCs. (Except my Dell Inspiron E1505 Vista machine because I can't get Feisty to run on it with the ATI card) The server is the only one that is running Xubuntu for lightness.
- zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I ordered fifty or so discs from "ship it" once and I received tons of stickers with the discs. I recall getting stickers with smaller orders as well.
- Jedeye459, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yes
- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3http://system76.com/article_info.php?articles_id=9
System76 makes and sells Ubuntu desktops/laptops. They'll send you free Ubuntu stickers if you send them a self-addressed stamped envelope. - stalefries, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He probably want the 915resolution package, or something with a name close to that.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If the bug is noticed here, then maybe more people will report it... This way it gets fixed! Either way, a bug needs to be submitted. That is the reason for testing the software anyway, isn't it?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I did.
- muep, on 10/10/2007, -0/+36.06 still is a good release, but 7.04 is better in many ways. Especially for those of us who have new hardware. If 6.06 works for you, it is a good way to avoid upgrading one's operating system twice a year.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yea, I wish... That is a much needed feature! I hope they are working on that...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3troll
- PhillAholic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4looking forward to this. The folks over at ubuntuforums.org say this release will have much better compatibility with my Asus G1s, which has huge problems with 6.06.
- Darkhacker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2APT does not handle downgrades well at all. You pretty much have to do everything manually. I would not recommend trying to downgrade. Just wait until it is stable or you can take the risk if your machine isn't part of a production environment.
- HermitZidler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I want 1440x900 resolution supported by default in the GUI.
- CircleFusion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Who says he is seeking assistance here? He's just mentioning an issue with the alpha version and asked if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.
- weizbox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Can you update to Tribe alpha 4 from feisty to test it out without having to do a new clean install? And if so... can you downgrade back to feisty later on without a clean install as well?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yea, I can't get my Dell Inspiron E1501 with integrated ATI to work with Feisty either. It boots, but only to text based... (Even the live CD) I tried different boot options that work with my Dell Inspiron 1501 that also has integrated ATI, but it doesn't work on my Inspiron E1505 for some reason. I even tried the safe VGA mode, but nothing works... I hate ATI. Note: They are different ATI chipsets, and my E1505 is Intel 2 Core, and my 1501 is AMD Sempron 64. I don't know if this matters or not.
- volanin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Really? How?
Honestly, I always got free CDs from ShipIt, but I never knew about stickers.
Could you explain better please? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You should probably post this bug so it can be fixed.
- trogdoor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For what card?
