digg is not an adequate place for support - jhaitas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15linux doesn't hide from its problems
- Spr0k3t, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Buried for spam... buried linked article for spam as well... added user to blocked list. Get a clue.
- sishgupta, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Except on digg we get to read comments like yours. That is already one reason to not use digg for ubuntu information.
- Moriya, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9mmm AJAX...nice interface.
- provocateur, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8> digg is not an adequate place for support
More importantly, Digg is not an *appropriate* place for support! - Spr0k3t, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Either Launchpad or search the http://ubuntuforums.org... I'm sure it's already been answered.
- sishgupta, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I agree and it is well done imho. The site updates in realtime too!
This is likely my new homepage. - chowmeined, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6This is an incredible idea! How come this hasn't been done before?
I was also surprised by how much activity there is. I knew the Ubuntu community was getting
popular but I didn't realize it was _that_ popular. - Vinvin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I think that would be hard to follow ;)
- Spr0k3t, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I love this idea... I would like to see it expanded beyond Ubuntu though... that would make the live stats really worth being a unified Linux home page.
- dudinatrix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This isn't an "official" site by Ubuntu/Canonical, is it? Either way, looks great!
- Revolt25, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3agreed, but I would think each distro would have to work on a page by them self, i highly doubt anyone would unify them, but i would love to see this for other distros like gentoo =)
- Spr0k3t, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Simplified filtering... Just select the distro of your choice and any other sections you might be interested in. Definitely something to look at. The Linux world doesn't revolve around Ubuntu.
- Burn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Is it though? I wasn't getting any POST or GET requests (Besides the initial page-loading ones) in firebug at all on that page.
- emelgeek, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ubuntu Live Stats, and yet they didn't post the spliced RSS for everything that was there. Other than that, i love the idea. :) Nice.
- deadlikeoscar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3If you use Gentoo you should be used to doing it yourself anyway. :-) Just playing man.
- emelgeek, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I already sent the suggestion to the ubuntustats team...:)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1thats what sucks about linux. there is never just a here you go hope that helps. its - go fing hunt for it. and I have gotten lots of good advice on digg about linux before.
@provocateur - you are right the correct comment would have been ZOMG linux FTW! this is digg after all - beuno, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It is not, but then again, neither are the forums.
Most big community projects aren't developed by canonical. - slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Thats cool!!!!!!!!!!
- Drakkor, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Kewl;.thx,Vin !
- billyfalconer, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1That! headline! needs! more! exclamation! marks! Otherwise!, people! won't! know! how! important! the! story! is!
- fkr3, on 10/11/2007, -10/+1http://digg.com/rss/indexlinux_unix.xml
That's a special feed dedicated to every trivial piece of Ubuntu news and information. - myt29, on 10/11/2007, -12/+1I saw "Amarok wiped out every file on my desktop."
o noes! - goodbeershow, on 10/11/2007, -17/+2What is the point? Everytime Ubuntu farts it makes Digg's frontpage. Just use Digg.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -28/+3Anyone know how to make beryl work with my X1900
Thanks in advance from a linux noob.
