- ludwik, on 01/11/2008, -1/+29Well, that's alpha.
- negnin, on 01/11/2008, -0/+18isn't a hardy heron basically a sturdy stork?
- MackPrime, on 01/11/2008, -10/+26HUNGRY HIPPO
- Shadez, on 01/11/2008, -3/+16still disappointed its not hungry hippo
- Theli, on 01/11/2008, -1/+13I hope that by introducing PolicyKit they can reorganize the system settings menus and merge certain dialogues. Right now I find them rather counter-intuitive.
- Flamekebab, on 01/11/2008, -0/+11LTS = "Long Term Support"
- MeneerR, on 01/11/2008, -0/+8Troll.
- sdyson, on 01/11/2008, -0/+8Sign up to the mailing list and you'll find out ;)
- Sabretou, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8They ought to put a public poll for the release title from next release on.
- hockey, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8Dude that release is years away.
- Darkhacker, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6I assume you were using that as an insult, but quite honestly I would love to have a release named that.
/Gay Linux user - altrego99, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6Thanks for the picture of the happy girls holding hands. That never gets old.
- webcrumb, on 01/11/2008, -0/+6Steadfast Squirrel... although that's an LTS name I seem to think all LTS are birds (Drake, Heron)... so Quality Quail would work (that one ripped from another post).
- andycr512, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5Look and feel of Windows? Have you actually used it?
- CoolWind, on 01/11/2008, -2/+7I'm starting to get addicted to this Ubuntu Hardy Heroin.
- derjames, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5windows emulator???... please elaborate....
- Sabretou, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5"upvoted"? Wow.
- derjames, on 01/11/2008, -1/+5tasty tuna
- courtjester555, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Wow that is oddly sexual
- stoanhart, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3That's not the one that comes to mind for me. I love Ubuntu, but every time I hear Hardy Heron, I automatically think of Harry Hardon. I just can't help it! :(

Ubuntu can't get better without our help. - MeneerR, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Well, they might even be able to combine both Preferences and System.
Now we have some doubles, because you can setup the user-level screen resolution and machiene-level screen resolution (used by the login manager for example) - brettalton, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2That's sweet. Use whatever works.
However my brother-in-law just bought a new computer and literally threw in his old hard drives to run Windows without reinstalling. Did it work? No. Did Ubuntu? Yes. Now he's re-installing Windows... well, I am... for him. - tvanwyk, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Have a cookie.
- tvanwyk, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2It's called "a dead horse."
- MattBD, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2I think they'll struggle to find the name of the next one as that will probably start with an I and the only animal I can think of that starts with an I is an iguana, which is a bit dull.
But J could be good - how about Jaunty Joey (as in a young kangaroo)? - immrlizard, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Has anyone here actually tried it yet? This is where I got on 7.0.4 and had no big problems. I am kind of happy with the way my machine is running now, so I may just try it on another drive
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -2/+3Horny Human.
- bjornski, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2Ok, thank you. :)
- aiten, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1It's called brand imagery and should be used wherever trademark such as 'Ubuntu' are used.
- Toshibi, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1I have yet to be able to access my SATA MSI DVD Drive and when it's plugged in it won't even load Ubuntu. The only work around I've been able to find in the time I've been using Ubuntu (almost 3 years) is using a PATA drive.
- brettalton, on 01/11/2008, -2/+3I'm already running Hardy :)
- rusty0101, on 01/26/2008, -0/+1And complaining about it is called necrohypsodasium
- GliTCH82, on 01/11/2008, -5/+6"The new kernel in Alpha 3 is unable to access CD-ROM devices in some configurations, which means some users who were previously able to install Ubuntu will not be able to install this alpha from CD media. Investigation is ongoing; no workaround is known at this time."
Well, that sucks. - 000dom000, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1strange my hauppauge works in mythtv but not in windows....
- tvanwyk, on 01/11/2008, -2/+2"linux marketing?"
What, pray tell, is that? - daanishrumani, on 01/11/2008, -2/+2Well if it sucks, then its not for you yet!
- boojah, on 01/28/2008, -0/+0wonder what next will be... itchy Igor?
- sketchman, on 02/28/2008, -0/+0Hairy Hillbilly.
- Disgruntldtoad, on 01/23/2008, -1/+0I personally was hoping for Pissed Puma.
But honestly, great OS - Toshibi, on 01/11/2008, -4/+3Ass to asssssss
- directrix13, on 01/11/2008, -3/+2Cheek to cheak
- voyvf, on 01/11/2008, -3/+2http://www.windowmaker.info/gallery.php - Not all of us are fond of the Windows look and feel.
- fani, on 01/11/2008, -3/+2I am hoping it has the drivers for Hauppauge HVR 1800 for using it for MythTV. Else I'll pass.
I have mythbuntu but the freaking thing doesn't recognize that card and I found no drivers online that're working. Closest was some conexant driver on Hg. But it gave problems. I just gave up and reinstalled Windows XP and its working beautifully under here with WinTV. - Khabi, on 01/11/2008, -4/+2can they please fire whoever names their releases?
Hardy Heron.. Really??? - inactive, on 01/11/2008, -7/+5Happy Hampster would have worked for me.
- bjornski, on 01/11/2008, -4/+2Fawn?
Maybe I'm unsure of a distinction between versions or something. Not familiar with "LTS names" It just seemed out of place if it was all birds.
Silly names aside, I'll try it out sometime - DagMX, on 01/11/2008, -5/+3I used to have a french teacher who made us all touch our asses together during french simon says...if she did that now she'd porbably have gone to jail
