- Protonz, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1If you want that stuff pre-installed, just try out Linux Mint. It is basically Ubuntu with a bunch of extra stuff installed (and a nicer theme IMO)

Not really sure what 'mint' stands for... I just tried the Live CD (with KDE for a change), and it seemed pretty good. I was wasting time with that indestructible tank game without installing anything. Compiz desktop effects didn't seem to work, I think it still requires additional installation of video drivers after you install it on your pc. - Vinvin, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Don't try Mint. For one, it's bloated, but perhaps some people don't mind. The big problem, however, is that is uses many different software sources which can really render your system unstable.
- pinguy, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1I now have it up and running and it works really well, I have even got my TV Card working and I have never been able to get that working in any Linux distro.
Ubuntu 7.10 is a great distro the only problem is it needs setting up with java, flash, codecs and lots of other little things that can be a bit off putting to a first time Linux user, its not hard setting up Ubuntu as you can use tools like Automatix, Envy and other programs that makes the process automatic but its still a pain as you need to download all the packets and know about these tools in the first place.
Ubuntu 7.10 W2L edition has everything already installed so you don't need to worry about any of that and it comes with the Ubuntu Studio theme that IMHO is one of the best looking themes you can get for Linux, but as Protonz said Linux Mint is pretty much the same but I have never liked the look or feel of Mint so this is why I am such a big fan of Ubuntu 7.10 W2L.

Geeh... Did you actually read the rest of the description? Why do you care what the abbreviation W2L stands for. You get a complete list of what comes pre-installed. Oh right, you didn't read the second paragraph of the description. But maybe reading isn't your strong point. - ipoodamac, on 11/27/2007, -1/+0wtf does w2l stand for? nevermind, i can guess what w2l stands for. what i wanna know is why it's impossible to find a description of what w2l means. the description on the torrent site starts describing some fukin book and some fukin applications but doesn't say what w2l means. this is what pisses me off about linux. nothing is ever introduced or described adequately.
