- ubernoggin, on 10/07/2008, -4/+46Great. Guess we'll be hearing a lot more about the masturbating monkeys:

and the wanking walruses:
http://digg.com/linux_unix/Linus_Torvalds_calls_Di ... - inactive, on 10/07/2008, -7/+36Torvalds is awesome.
- Loornadune, on 10/07/2008, -2/+17Awesome, another tech-centric blog that I really don't need to read that I'll probably read every post...
- SendDerek, on 10/08/2008, -0/+11Direct link to the actual blog:
http://torvalds-family.blogspot.com/ - Zalyster, on 10/08/2008, -1/+11Isn't this how everyone starts blogs/tweets/etc.?
"I don't see a point to it but I guess I might use it for random stuff."
:P - PhailQuail, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7He should name Ubuntu releases
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8Linus should twitter. That would be way better, I'd definitely follow him.
- SlapAyoda, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Another outlet for Linus' hilarious tirades. Not a bad thing at all.
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Linus_Torvalds - montanask8, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6To be honest what u say here is sort of your own blog... so i guess you should put a sharp stick up your own ass!!!
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -2/+6Wow, did you really put "F" instead of *****? You're too afraid to swear? ON THE INTERNET?
moron - jdibiase, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4SirLoinChop - I don't think you "no" anything about what makes for a good blog. And I'm sure you're grandfather is better off that you don't visit him in the nursing home.
Nobody forces you to "listen" to their blogs, but thanks for posting your relevant thoughts, such as they are. Oh, and go [insert most appropriate letter of the alphabet here] yourself with an even sharper stick. - solarwind24, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Blogspot? You've gotta be kidding, right? He really needs his own webserver...
- ethana2, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Wow, he's starting to look old... that's very strange to me.
Heh..
"Yes, yes, it's me. A "fake Linus" would hopefully try to be entertaining."
Whoever does this better do a really good job. - ha3er0, on 06/16/2009, -1/+4heh how about some pictures?
http://www.linuxhaxor.net/2008/07/16/new-logo-for- ... - ethana2, on 10/08/2008, -3/+6I hope that's a joke.. That page is a joke, right?
- BullHunter, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4I can thank guys like this for my personal experiences online. Keep it up, Torvalds!
- netneutrality, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3For what it's worth, here's a now 14-years-old audio recording of Torvalds demonstrating the correct pronunciation. I say it pretty much the same way really because that's how it's spelt:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/SillySounds ... - palehorse864, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4I thought he was talking about his brand new dog. Now I'm kind of disappointed.
- trogdoor, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Linus' Minix, Linux.
- ethana2, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Oh man, pronunciation and FOSS projects.
I've heard the most PAINFUL pronunciation attempts...
In all honesty, because nerds can sometimes be pretty isolated, pronunciation will vary wildly and pretty much anything goes. As I've said before, the only distros people seem to be able to pronounce are Arch, Puppy, and Mint. - worldnick, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Do you seriously say Lennox? Everyone I know in Southern California says LIN-ex.
- HonoredMule, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2“I have an ego the size of a small planet”
That's Linus for ya...always thinking small. If I my ego can dwarf Jupiter, surely Linus' can too. - oobuntu, on 10/08/2008, -1/+3your first "if" is false. it isn't pronounced lie-nuss (as in snoopy cartoon), it's pronounced lin-uss because, as you will read from his blog post, he's not from the USA.
- benologist, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Not to mention you're reading *about* a tech blog *on* a tech blog, and every time he posts all the digg whoring blogs will race to summarise it and get it front paged first.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Funny, I was thinking the exact opposite. I think this might be the first picture of him that I've seen, and I was expecting someone with grey hair in his 50s. He's a lot younger than I thought, and isn't aging that bad, all things considered.
- mynameistux, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2dugg for linus
- tenjin1, on 10/08/2008, -2/+4Would love to see Linus' blog.; But have to agree Stallman is better and love his page @ http://www.stallman.org/
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Well, that covers that. Thanks!
- Sammi84, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2Why bother? Blogspot is stable, requires zero maintenance... oh and it's free (as in beer).
I really hope he has something better to do than to maintain his own webserver. Maybe something like creating the kernel that runs it? - anabelslaw, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Dreaming with Linus...
http://www.geekycomic.net/2008/10/dreams.html - primalsteel, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1What kind of p.o.sh^^ gives thumbs down on a thank you to someone,I also notice the ones that are do not even have the balls to make a comment as to why you would -me on thanking this gentleman!! F+COWARDS
- expert01, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1I've never seen him before... really weird... I was imagining glasses, thin face, and dark hair.
- ethana2, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1You people always forget the value of /real life/.
...gets expensive when he goes to conferences and crap though.
The trick is to not have him actually recognize you, because then either you have to submit a patch to his git or you're likely to have a restraining order issued on you. - rovr138, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1AdSense?
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1It sucks to admit you've been wrong about something for 12 years, but.. well, it appears I have been!
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -2/+2I think he should create a rap video about linux
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+1I'm sorry but talk about blogs, even by Torvalds, is where I draw the line between worthwhile and not worthwhile.
- Giga, on 10/08/2008, -0/+0To be fair, he only called digg users wanking walruses so the announcement would get wider distribution. I'm pretty sure he (mostly) didn't mean it.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -11/+10I love Torvalds, but Stallman is better.
- HCviolence, on 10/08/2008, -4/+3Good news, blogs were created for random crud.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -2/+1De Raadt is better than both
BSD and ISC forever - PullingTeeth, on 10/08/2008, -3/+1Where's his beard?
- primalsteel, on 10/07/2008, -4/+2Sure lets hear it!!!
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -4/+1OK, since we're talking about him, someone answer this for me. It's been bugging me for years.
If his name is Linus (pronounced like LIE-nuss), and the OS he helped start is called Linux, why is Linux pronounced like "Lennox" and not "LIE-nucks"?
I still catch myself saying it like the latter, because "Lennox" just sounds wrong, yet that seems to be the mainstream.
That's all, I'll go back to "You-Boon-tuh" now. - XtheXlanternX, on 10/08/2008, -5/+2all i can think about is johnny drama playing tarvold in "viking quest"
- dannybuntu, on 10/08/2008, -5/+1So he has 3 blogs? If you care for my proofs:
http://dannybuntu.blogspot.com/2008/09/yes-i-am-li ... - ha3er0, on 06/16/2009, -6/+2heh... would you like more encouragement my friend? :)
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -6/+1they're both stupid.
