I use Linux, I like open source software, but you people are ridiculous. - libervisco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Erm, it looks like you're making some assumptions here. The article didn't even mention "freedom fighters" nor the fate of the humanity.
That said, freedom indeed was what motivated people to start an OS which we know as GNU/Linux. Linus Torvalds didn't do it all you know.
There's nothing ridiculous about history. And there's nothing ridiculous about freedom to control your own computer either (which is why Free Software is all about).
But you're free to think what you will (and that freedom isn't all that ridiculous either).
