  • KAMiKAZOW, on 11/17/2009, -0/+5Chrome OS is bad for Linux as an ecosystem. It aims to replace locally installed FOSS tools (eg. Pidgin, OpenOffice, etc.) with closed source, ad-ridden web-based apps.
    Don't like an update to a web app? Too bad ... you can't install the old version again.

    I'm not saying that all web apps are bad. In "traditional" desktops, you have the choice to either use web apps or normal apps. Chrome OS does not give you the choice. It's either web apps-only or install another OS.
