Stats that prove what we already knew.. Linux beats Windows for web hosting
blog.mon.itor.us — mon.itor.us managed to collect a large amount of data from their service, and performed some analysis. Of over 12,000 sites analyzed, 60% used Linux and 17% used Windows. The results of the analysis certainly justify that though: Linux had >0.5% better uptime and 50ms faster request serving (ironically, NetBSD was the overall winner).

the accounts that actually see real traffic stayed with linux.
