Spyware on a Linux Machine

img144.imageshack.us — I got redirected from a website to one of those fake spyware scanners. It shows that I'm running Linux, but still shows spyware in My Documents. Do companies like this really think people are that stupid?

    when i open the above link the NoScript extension completely blocks their stupid popups and any other script they may have...
    one more thing, if you look clossly behind the dialog box you see a C:Documents and Settings that is specific to ms-windows...

    Seems they all find their way to the internet, too...
  • schestowitz, on 11/18/2007, -3/+2NoScript and AdBlock may take a while getting used to. When certain important parts of the page disappear, then you realise there's a cost (learning curve).
